I agree.I don't think we will see limited editions other than Icona and Halo cars.
IMHO Pista Spider is the new model for Special Series cars.

I was told by my dealer that the 812VS coupe version will not be limited in numbers, but limited by production (like the 488 Pista Aperta) and the 812VS Aperta version will be a true limited edition in extreme rare numbers (less than 200 cars). This is my dealer's speculation obviously based on their recent sales meeting with Maranello.

This makes me very happy if that's the case.

Might mean I have a shot at the 812VS Coupe...

Seems to be the best guess from informed sources at present.
I would assume a launch at factory before any "public" reveal.

The mystery of whether the VS will be true plagues the F8 VS. I have heard both yes and no. But my firm belief they will both be made with limited numbers for the spiders and limited to time for the coupes.
IF I was in charge of Ferrari I sure as hell would build them . But if they do will it only be superficial livery , carbon etc with no new tweaks.

Ordered means „pre Contract“ via the dealer what you can do for any car, showes only the interest, means not you get one or even they build it.

But IF, you are on the paper in front ;-)

    sorry for missunderstanding...

Understand this completely. In the old days we called it lodging an "expression of interest".
Process depends on relationship with dealer but putting an expression of interest in writing to your dealer must help when they consider who to invite to launch at factory.
My understanding is that once dealer produces list of invitees to a launch, factory vets the list.If you go to launch my belief is you are pretty much guaranteed an allocation (anybody with a different experience let us know) and quite shortly after launch you will be given the chance to transfer deposit.
Lead times from launch to delivery are getting shorter as Ferrari have learnt from the 812 situation.

My understanding is that 812 VS will be built. It will not be just a paint job.It will be launched Q2 2020 and will be limited by time of build not numbered.

Assuming they had to up the power of the GTS to maintain parity with the coupe due to GPF filter, is there any margin left with the engine to give the normal 30 to 40 bhp jump ? You would think almost certainly not, but they must be at the limit. Maybe go Lambo route with a mild hybrid ?
