With that said you are glossing over one of the neatest details on the convertible; you can also lower the back window. Just like in a spider...

Anybody seen any still pictures of both C8 varieties parked next to each other for comparison?

There were lots of pictures of the race car beside the convertible but the white targa coupe was parked a discreet distance away during the reveal.
They might have rearranged the display C8's on the second display day there for the public.

I'd echo The Mayor's comments. It's all relative.

But you're right to a degree, it's not crazy expensive on an absolute basis.

So I completely agree the Vert looks better and would be more fun to drive topless (or even non topless) than the Coupe.

What I'm saying is that for $7500 what you really get is a bit better open air driving and have the car put the top away for you. For a lot of people, they won't tick that box for that reason.

One huge advantage for me is that the Vert keeps all the storage space. I plan to use this as a daily driver and long distance GT. It means I can pack the car and still have the top go down. In a coupe, you are only left with the front.

I sat in it. I thought it was white.

Not my pics but the same car I sat in. I had no idea it was "gray".

gray looks nice but will show dirt and blue jean dye easily i suspect.
sure does brighten up the cabin.
leaning towards red/gray or red/red coupe.

This same car has been sat in over a thousand times in the past month and you can see obvious damage and dirt to it in recent pictures. IMO, I'd stay away.

owned a Lamborghini Jalpa that was red with full white leather interior.

If kept clean the interior was fine to live with.

I would think the C8 interior is way, way better made.

Light color interiors have undeserved reputation as being hard to maintain. Modern materials can can hold pretty well. I had a very light beige interior on daily driver panamera that held up to lots abuse. I say go for it

The new Vette was a the Barrett Jackson auction in Vegas. First time seeing it in the flesh. Only thing that turned me off was the black plastic accents, turn those to carbon and I don't have much to complain about. I totally get why people are running to put a deposit down. Interior is way better quality than I've ever seen in a Vette. I'm impressed.

I took a bunch of pictures, will post them up later today. It was white with two tone black and blue interior.

I just saw an orange coupe at a dealer that had the "gray" interior, and I thought it was white as well. It's extremely light gray. The side bolsters of the seats looked terrible because of everyone getting in and out. Considering this is one of the tour cars, I have to assume that they're trying their best to clean it, but that color lends itself to become dirty easy--and possibly not as easy to keep clean as a darker color. The perforations in the seats don't do the color any favors either, because from a distance it looks like the seats are dirty. That interior color aside, the rest of the car looked great. The rear end of the car does look huge, though, and the rear hatch is absolutely enormous. I felt that it was easier to get a good seating position in the car versus the C7, and I like that the GT2 seats have adjustable side bolsters.

I mistakenly posted all the pics in the "Official C8 Order Thread - Who's getting one?" thread, so check it out for all the pictures from Barrett Jackson.

I completely agree. I had the same issue with the C7. This "carbon flash" stuff looks cheap to me. Its just metal flake clear coat but its better than just unpainted plastic. I think the aftermarket will have a field day on this car, starting with the side vents, the rear view mirrors, the vents front and rear, and ground effects.

    $595 for painted.

Attached is a working Excel build sheet. Add $7500 over the 1LT or $7000 over the 2 or 3 LT versions for the convertible. 2021 MY prices will be higher.

Has anyone else noticed this or heard comments about this. What the guy says is true. You can't wrap your fingers around the steering wheel at the normal 3 and 9 position. Seems like that is not ideal especially on track.

    .

    > Watch Matt Farrah's hands/fingers on this vid. Doesn't seem to be a problem, but again, not ideal, especially on track.
    .

    > I will be curious to see if this is mentioned in 'driving impressions' when they are finally available Oct. 16th
