When did the FIA or Liberty ever consider common sense a prerequisite for timing a GP? They love to claim ignorance of stupid race conditions that mean teams lose practice sessions, and create disjointed races

I fear the weekend will be a total loss. All the prerace setup will need to be undone pretty quickly. I was looking for a Ferrari comeback, too....:(

That looks like a really nasty storm on the satellite image. Having been in too many of these all I can say is Godspeed to all in its path.

Fingers crossed we get to race at all !
Assuming we do lets hope we dispense with any pre-race favouritism and let Seb and Charles fight it out on track.
Depending on who is quicker on the day the strategy can then be formulated.
We lost the championship in 1h 2019 so these later races are just be a case of 1) continuing to restore prestige and 2) working out which driver to back in 2020.
Which driver wins let's hope Scuderia Ferrari are victorious.
We have been fastest for a period, but whilst AMG Mercedes are hard to like they are not to be underestimated.
    Good luck Red team.
    Forza Ferrari !

By the way, a Lusso would make a much better looking safety car for 2020.
You can get more gear in the back too ;)

    From Planet F1: https://www.planetf1.com/news/steiner-facing-paddock-ban-for-criticising-stewards/?utm_source=Planet+F1&utm_campaign=c68f9412a2-EMAIL_CAMPAIGN_2019_10_09_11_37&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_6a1685cd56-c68f9412a2-1203981633

Haas team boss Guenther Steiner is facing a ‘draconian punishment’ from the FIA following his criticism of race commissioner Emanuele Pirro.

Haas driver Kevin Magnussen was handed a five-second time penalty at the Russian GP that demoted him from eighth to ninth.

    Steiner blamed Pirro.

“If it wasn’t for a stupid, idiotic steward, we would be eighth,” he told Magnussen as the driver did his in-lap.

Magnussen replied: “Yeah, what a load of ****.”

The criticism of Pirro caught the attention of the FIA.

As this is not the first time that Steiner has publicly criticised the stewards, motorsport’s governing body is keen to take action against the Austria.

According to Motorsport-Total.com, the FIA is considering three different punishments.

One is a hefty fine of 250,000 euros while the second is a points’ deduction for Haas.

That would cost them in the Constructors’ Championship, the standings that decide the prize money awarded at the end of the season.

The third, though, could yet be the harshest with a “paddock ban”.

That would leave Steiner having to watch the weekend’s action from the grandstands, similar to football when a manager is thrown out of the dugout and sent to the stands.

FIA race director Michael Masi told Motorsport-Total.com: “Ultimately we’re all here to do our job, be it the officials, the teams, everyone, and there has to be a degree of mutual respect.

“If something inappropriate was said, there are those responsible for legal issues off the racetrack who can look at it.”
