Wow the Dodgers tried to throw it away but one really bad base running error killed the rally. The Nats never recovered after that. You can see both teams have a problem with the bullpens.
So you can see the last two games the weakness of the Dodgers -- relief pitching. This is not new. They've had this problem for months and have skirted over it because of their offense. But in a short series its difficult to hide a few mistakes. So far I have to say this is probably the worst decisions by a manager I've ever seen. If the Dodgers lose in the first round guess who is going to see the door.
Agreed. I am actually happy the Yankees won so that we slid back to 6:07 pm. Originally we were going to be at 3 pm today.
Yes, agreed. The Dodgers are damn good this year. Astros have the same problem. 2 real starters, 1 decent one, no relief pitching. We cover up for it during the year by scoring runs. But, the bats are cold and it make the problem very acute.
I swear I don't remember an Astros game starting at noon before in the past playoffs. Maybe I'm wrong, but that's freaking 10am pst.
Yankees are in! YEAY!!! Next up... Probably The Mighty Astros. Fingers crossed that the Dodgers lose tomorrow.

TB has changed to quick rotation of pitchers and it’s really quieted Houston’s bats. I’m surprised JV got on tilt so early and I don’t remember the last time he was out in four. This is playoff baseball though!
That's why Cole is going to win the Cy Young award this year and not Justin. He's going to K the Rays out of the playoffs.
All three remaining series are now one-game playoffs. The wild card teams have the advantage of having had to win a game like that already. They will be loose as a goose because no one expected them to be in this position. If the favored teams press (like swinging at bad pitches), they may be in big trouble. The one advantage they have is home field, and the final at-bat.
Yup, too bad the Braves can't put Foltynewicz back in. Hitting clinic Should have won the last game (I think I can actually hear my Grandmother saying that currently). They just said this is a record for runs-wow
Very puzzling, since Folty (and Fried) both pitched very well coming down the stretch; I think Folty had one bad outing, but nothing like tonight, and of course he basically outduelled Flaherty in game 2 (on the same field). I had said that the Braves' #3, 4 & 5 hitters had to start producing in order for them to advance; obviously that became a moot point very early! Somehow the Braves have always been a bit jinxed in postseason play; consider their 14 straight division titles with only 1 World Series win to show for it. They've got good personnel, good spirit and good management, but strange things seem to happen in October.
What an outrageous turn of events in LA tonight. Kershaw blows the save giving up two HRs in a row to tie it, then Joe Kelly gives up a grand slam in the tenth. Sox fans will recognize this Joe Kelly as he loved to blow games for us before we got rid of him! Congrats Nats fans. Next round will be interesting for sure.
Joe Kelly sets an all-time record for most crappy sliders, beating out that White Castle that gave everybody botulism in the 90s.
