Hi. I have all the pieces for my 812GTS spec except the exterior colour. Does anyone know this car and what is the colour please? I know it’s tough to see from a picture, possibly Ferro? many thanks.

Looks like Grigio Ingrid to me but as you say, the angle makes it difficult to tell

It is 250 GT Speciale Chassis #1187 GT and the original color was/is Grigio Metallizzato Speciale LC 16503 MM (Max Meyer).

1187 GT was built in 1958, only 61 years ago.
    Good luck.

I assume you meant that this will be tough. Darn.

on a write up I saw

At the Geneva Motor Show, the 250 GT Coupe Speciale wore a Grigio Metallizzato Speciale paint scheme with black leather and plastic interior. In modern times, the paint is metallic silver with red-leather

    thoughts?

I really loved this colour in person. I think would really suit the GTS.

You truly are a wealth of information. Thanks again. Looks so much more like silver in that pic. Looked more ferro when I saw it. Have you seen this car in person? Thoughts of the colour for GTS on Bordeaux?

Google me. I have probably personally seen more than 50'000 Ferraris in the past 45 years. And yes, of course, I have seen 1187 GT several times in person, at various places in USA.
Yes, it is silvergrey metallic. Not "Grigio Ferro" at all.

Sorry been off Ferrari chat for many years. Perfect!! You can spec my car then. If it’s possible do you have a private email or account so I don’t subject the world to my questions?

Pictures look the same but there are changes on that car. Tail lights, bumper, reflectors, side mirror, emblem, plate holder, etc.

For what it's worth, the original owner of the Grigio Coburn TDF is on FChat and you might want to speak with him with any questions regarding the color.

That said, the Grigio Metallizzato Speciale color off 1187GT would be stunning on a 812 GTS.

This is Grigio Ingrid and on my 70th 488 Ferrari just used Argento Nurburgring and not a paint to sample

Grigio Ingrid is very pretty, but can look "champagne" and even perhaps a light tan color depending on the shape of the vehicle. It might be nice on the GTS, but I would be hesitant unless you know for sure.

Thanks everyone. Member name for the coburn tdf?

How does one PM on F chat? (Sorry can’t seem to do).

beautiful 488 congrats. Ingrid is too gold for me. Looking for an intense metallic grey that leans to the lighter side. I wonder what the new GTS colour is like, is it like Coburn or Grigio or?
