Former rental in LV, history here on the forum, has had two transmission replacements. Look, if you are a 430 buyer, assuming you can buy this for $110k, is well worth taking a look for all the great stuff you get on a Scuderia.

with iron brakes? That should be 20,000 dollars less.

LOL....coming from a former rental with 58k miles, most would prefer steel brakes.

Image Unavailable, Please Login VERY nice car in person, leather seats, and I’d prefer steel rotors, I kinda wished I’d bought it.

My wife’s fleet color is yellow. All stuff in 430’s can be fixed that’s why I like them.

Number 1 rule in Ferrari ownership. Fake it til you make it!

Number 2. Scuds are so light that steel brakes work as good as needed and are much cheaper

They really don't. Iron brakes are borderline dangerous on the F430 platform if you drive as intended. Easily fixed though.

My two cents? Keep in mind that the "cost" of owning a Ferrari is the delta between what you pay and what you can sell it for. Not the absolute purchase price...

(setting aside operating/maint/repair costs of course)

    Exactly.
And with a high milage rental car one might expect lots of hidden maintenance costs that you never get back vs a nicer car with low maint costs. There you DO get your money back.
