What is the theory behind bringing only 1 set of hard tires for each of your drivers? How do you use the tire in the race if you haven't practiced on it?

    Thanks!

Apparently they're not planning to use it based on their prior experience at this track, but they have to bring at least one of each compound.

Thank you. I did not realize that was the case. (i.e. bringing at least 1 of each compound)

Yep, yet another pointless rule - have a maximum tyre allowance, then remove one set straight away because the tyre is useless at that track but you have to have at least one.... why don’t they just allow one less allocation and not bother bringing one set extra per team of useless tyres, or give the teams the extra one set of their preferred tyres? Too sensible I guess for F1, just like penalising them for pushing development of engines or gearboxes by limiting the number available - waste of bloody time and ruins the ‘racing’, you know, what little we have

All drivers for Ferrari, Red Bull, and Merc bringing one set of Softs...except for Bottas. He will have two sets of Softs.

Different tyre strategies for the two drivers? Why? The WCC is wrapped up. One of the Merc drivers will win the WDC.

I think it is still possible for Leclerc to snatch #2 from Bottas.

At this point, Leclerc is 53 points behind with 4 GPs to go.
If Bottas wasn't to collect any points in these races, which I doubt,
Leclerc would have to score at least 13 points per race, that is finishing constantly no lower than 3rd and 4th. Can he do it ?
But I think Bottas will keep his runner-up position.

Looking forward to the race, the track in Mexico manages to produce some interesting moves in the first sector at least.

Agreed. The recycled baseball stadium seating just misses the mark.

How far is the Track venue from the Restaurant District where the Mexican Army lost it's battle, last week??

I always assumed "the city was safer" in such things, but that showed some pretty harrowing property damage...

Sorry to go OT..disregard if you wish....

    Great pics!!!

i wonder how long before they are made to start managing carbon offset etc; or if they will become pro active and do it before they are made to?

    looking forward to the race!!

Carbon offset? For gods sake man. Let the governments pretend to be all about the environment in their own time, don’t encourage the prats!!!! #burnmorepetrol #britainiscold #pleasemoreglobalwarming #wecantfeelit

  20. One should never answer a question with a question, but I must......they are two drivers, why not???

Maybe, just maybe, strategising the way they do contributes to Merc's dominance, eh? ;)
