Are there any stats on how many 458 (Italia, Spider, Speciale) that has been manufactured globally? And maybe also how many of them that are still "alive".

    I found this on Quora:
There was a recall for a trunk latch problem that affected 3082 cars in North America, built between March 5, 2010 and May 20, 2013.
Typically, NA accounts for 30% of worldwide Ferrari sales. So, in 3 years, around 10,000 458s would've been built.
Therefore by 2015, around 15,000 units would've been built, as demand decreases over time.

    And this...

Looking by the VIN Numbers, Ferrari sold more than 18000 458 Italias. And I know that because, I asked a guy from Al-Tayer Motors (Dealer of Ferrari in Dubai) about it. They "mass produced" it for sure!

Sounds like a mass production then, no?

20.000 units over a 6 year period would mean nearly 3.400 units per year. That’s half way between a third and half of all Ferraris made in one year. I don’t buy it. Californias sold even better, and then there were FFs and F12s too, at a time Ferrari made no more than 9.000 units per year tops. 15.000 units across all variants seems acceptable.

    Kind regards,

    Nuno.

In France for the registration numbers I recall the 458 or 488 range account for half the sales, in turn being split around 50/50 between coupe and spider. I also think the proportion of spiders has been as high only in the last (5? 10?) years, before it was rather 2/3 berlinettas and 1/3 spiders (maybe the retractable hard-top has made the spiders more popular).

I know you are kidding but for others that may not know Camry production is near 1 million a year. So all of the 458s ever produced would be roughly equal to the numbers of Camrys produced in 5 days. Economy of scale.

California sold well but still did not come close to 458 Italia production numbers. California product is likely a touch over 10,000 across both generations.

I was going to suggest looking in the back of any recent Cavallino magazine, but for some reason they still list each variation of 458 as "Production". I thought "Production" would mean models still being sold by the factory as new...

According to 2017’s Ferrari annual report, there were about 17,500 Californias ever made between 2008 and 2017 (10 years), and by all accounts the California outsold the 458, that’s why I’m sticking to a personal estimate of 15,000 units tops across a 6 year production span. For the record, I expect very similar production numbers between the 458 and the 488: the 488 had a shorter lifespan, but during its tenure Ferrari ramped up their factory’s production output, so I’m guessing it’ll balance out.

    Kind regards,

    Nuno.
