I certainly understand the topic of this thread: Ferrari fear. I have it. Everytime I start the car, I wonder what's going to happen. Will it start? Will I get a CEL? Will something awful happen? Will I get stranded? Then, driving it: What's that noise? Did it just do something different? Is my clutch feeling squishy? Is that a new rattle? I had the same fear for the 15 years I owned a 1973 Porsche 911. That car never stranded me (except once running out of gas).

The important note is this: Don't give into your fears. If you live in fear, you'll end up as one of those old people in the news with a house full of cat feces and rubbish. Embrace the fear. Live the fear. Enjoy it as it's a sign you are alive. Fear can be a good thing. It keeps you alert.

I've had my 360 a month, put nearly 500 miles on it, and and will take it anywhere (except when it's wet). Maybe my fear will eventually be replaced with confidence. Maybe not.

You didn't hear it from me, but a secret technical document that I just read from a big car company suggests that bug splatter can be removed! It's not easy, but it can be done.

If that big car company is Ferrari, that’s why they will also tell you they will charge $2500. to do it,

The romance and mythology of Ferrari can turn to a form of fetishism
Sometimes we need to be reminded that at the end of the day they’re cars. Great cars but still cars.

so I was a pilot of fighters and helicopters and at night you always heard things you never heard during the day
    We called them
Night Noises and always over water away from land ( don’t get me started here)
It was an heighten sense of alertness you might say
Anyway it seems Ferrari owner's have this as soon as they have the keys in there hands!
    Yes?

oh by the way drive it in the wet
    It’s like sex
    It’s better when it’s slippery
    And you know what
You can handle it and she runs cooler too!

I have this fear that while driving my Ferrari a beautiful girl will force me off the road and rape me.

19 years of owning a Ferrari and it hasn’t happened yet. I think l am starting to get over this fear now.

This thread has been very helpful to put this into perspective. Thanks.

Funny you should mention it but that is exactly what happened to me yesterday.....except it was two girls.
Call me crazy, but I refuse to give in and will continue to drive my Ferrari and take the risk of it happening again.

    LOL!
Ferrari market is really funny in US, most folks just don't drive these cars at all.
I can not give away my wife's LussoV12, a 2019 car with 3200 miles, heard many comments that the car had too high of a mileage to be an attractive buy at $125k discount.
If you can't drive'em then what's the point of buying them?

I can only attest to what I’ve seen in the ff/lusso sub but the tranny/ptu issues seem to be hit or miss on those cars, definitely keeping me away. The cost of entry and possible maintenance are off putting.

Car has full factory warranty and 7 years free maintenance so it's not the issue.
Was mechanically bulletproof in the time she drove it.

You mean they are not only for Show &Tell. I have 43k miles on my 07 gated 430 spider that I bought new. I just got a 2012 FF for my daily driver. I should easily put 15k miles a year on it

Regarding the PTU problem, I think it’s over done. I bought an FF With a warranty. With the expectation it would fail.
It failed, drove the car to the dealer, 3 weeks later it was fixed and dropped off back at my house.

17k miles in 6 months as a daily driver. I’ll either keep it and budget when the warranty ends. Or trade in for something newer.
Every F car seems to have its ‘expensive flaw’

    drive on!
