OH MAN I thought the Yankees were going to pull it off. The Astros have to be 20 to 1 favorites over the Nationals.
If the Yankees were going to lose one of the last two games, l am glad they lost tonight. That way the game will not interfere with NFL tomorrow. Life is good. Life is better driving a Ferrari. And may the horse be with you.
Image Unavailable, Please Login . We had Rondón and Abreu in the pen. Abreu only has a very few MLB innings of experience. Rondón is a decent 6th or 7th inning reliever. I assume the team would have Grienke make a relief appearance. I have no idea what options N.Y. had available after Chapman was done. Big screw up by Boone. You had Marisnick on deck after Altuve. Marisnick is a pure defensive 4th outfielder, with no bat. The second run is meaningless. Why not put Altuve on first and pitch to Marisnick. Altuve and Brantley were the only Astros hitters who consistently hit the ball during the ALCS. The NY press will BBQ Boone over the failure to put Altuve on base and pitch to Marisnick.
Image Unavailable, Please Login I ‘believe’ he has more hits than Rose, at the same point (age) in their careers. No idea how long Altuve will play + speed helps him obtain quite a few infield hits. Great player.

Drat! And Double Drat! Funny thing is that I shut the game off after Chapman got the second out, figuring the game would go into extras. The last thing I expected was for Chapman to give up a walk-off home run. I'm rooting for the Nationals in the Series, since Houston won a title recently and Washington hasn't won a title since Methuselah! If their pitching can dominate like they did against the Cardinals, they have a chance.
This series was the Yankees to lose. But the astros game to advance runners was the best I've even seen. Especially during those few 3rd to home pickles.
The last time a Washington team (then, the Senators, an AL team) was in the World Series was 86 years ago. The only time they won the series was 95 years ago! So I think they're due.
The Yankees' main weakness was their failure to hit with runners in scoring position. If they didn't set an ALCS record for runners left-on-base, they must have gotten close.
My parents had season ticket's in the early 2000's, I went to the 3rd game of the 2005 WS. At the time it was the longest WS game ever I I believe. They lost but the atmosphere was awesome, and this team is light years ahead. If you're willing to shell it out, I don't think you'll regret it. Especially if you wait for game 3 or 4.
