I posted that EPA document few months back in the other Pista thread. Here's the link if you guys want to look around at other models; https://iaspub.epa.gov/otaqpub/ Full document with the projected sales: https://iaspub.epa.gov/otaqpub/display_file.jsp?docid=43792&flag=1
Not me ... I need another fast FI car like I need a superfluous testicle. Out of curiosity, it says that the 449 is for the 19 model year, are pistas being built as a 2020 model as well?
lol sorry about the first part of that quote ... It was autosaved from a while back as something I wasn't going to post and it automatically added it to the last post ... oh well, it's out there now.
So it may be 449 Pista for 19 model year and maybe another 500 or so for 20 model year? Maybe more? Call it a 1000. Does that mean 1500 Pista in the us?
So the question comes to mind did you buy the car because of how many exactly you guessed would be made or because you love the car and wanted it built just for you to enjoy. Maybe both but for sure more of one than the other. Since the price is so high for these production cars and they will all be made in lowish quantities are the number of flippers dropping? One would think so.
I can answer only for myself: My primary motive for buying the Pista was my general satisfaction with the performance gains of the 488 over the 458. I was very impressed with the Turbocharged engine, and figured if I liked the 488, I'd love the Pista. A close second is the exterior styling of the Pista. I think it is a high water mark for the V8 line, and now that I've seen the Pista next to the F8, I'm quite sure that the Pista is one of the most purposeful and attractive designs Ferrari has come up with since the F40. Third, if I'm being totally honest with myself, is that it is a somewhat limited car. There is something special about owning a thing that is rare, if for no other reason than its enjoyable to share it with others, especially my fellow car guys, who get a kick out of car spotting. Certainly, this has NOTHING to do with the delusional hope of "making money" on the car. I plan to lose my shorts on the Pista just as I have with virtually every other exotic I have ever owned.
The 2020 model year cars started in ~July this year and run through the end of this year + a few in Q1. I believe the later models will mostly be Spiders which there won't be many.
Don’t worry I took it around the track last week and it is unbelievable. You will be amazed and glad you have it.. trust me nothing compares
From what I hear, 2019 is by far the highest production year for Pistas. Some will be built in 2020, but 2020 will be mostly Pista Spiders. According to my dealer, all Pistas should be out by the end of Q3 and Q4 will be for a few of the last Spiders. After the summer shutdown both F8 T and F8 S should be in full production leaving very little room for the remaining Pistas. So because of 449 cars in 2019, that's not the same as 500 cars in 2020. Ferrari has really been pushing the Pista production hard between Q3 2018 and Q3 2019. More F8 T cars are ready getting on the line with Pista production ramping down.
As for my Pista coup, it’s been stage 40 for several weeks. They don’t seem in a hurry to push out all the coups in Q3 seeing Q3 is over. No rush to get mine now that winter will arrives in Chicago before the car does.
You got it right already, roughly 10 cars per dealer in the states. Some a few more others less. Maybe someone will create a registry.
40 for weeks seems very odd. Do you have a TM build or something else very special? I believe MODIS 40 is interior assembly after paint. Do you get the MODIS 40 from your dealer or MyFerrari? If it has been 40 for weeks, I suspect it will be here shortly.

It too me from September 26 to October 15 to go from 20 to 40. However, mark was stuck with no updates either and all of a sudden his car was finished. I don’t think the status is updated correctly or in real time.
Our TM Pista was stage 40 for over two months in MODIS before progressing pretty rapidly after that. Part of it was the August break but at least 5-6 weeks wasn’t. Maybe, the system is not updated in real time. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
