Well if they are cheating they are doing a terrible job as they're last among all the factory teams and even behind their own customer team McLaren in the constructor championship.
Guess this is when the Polish FIA scrutineer guy now working at Renault comes to hand. How did Racing point found out? The Hulk?
Hummm ... Never mind Renault, that could reflect badly on the drivers too. They could be considered as accomplices in this. Hulkenberg is out anyway, but Ricciardo don't need that on his résumé.
Just at the moment when they have sacked their CEO in a palace revolution, and installed a "temporary" one. Renault's long term participation in F1 could be even more doubtful if it brings scandals.
It's a Renault door, so it would probably stick open and catch on fire No such luck for us that it would stick closed and then catch on fire. CA should have been booted the moment Renault had no more takers for their engines. Renault were making reasonable progress with their return to F1, but CA has undone all that in a matter of a season.
‘Drivers had to know of Renault brake bias system’ https://www.planetf1.com/news/drivers-had-to-know-about-renault-brake-bias-system/ Daniel Ricciardo and Nico Hulkenberg had to know about Renault’s brake bias system, if it proves to be true, says former driver Ralf Schumacher. Renault are facing a huge penalty if found guilty of running a pre-set brake bias system that automatically adjusts the balance depending on where the car is on the track. The matter was brought to the FIA’s attention at Suzuka when Racing Point lodged a 12-page protest. Motorsport’s governing body seized Renault’s control electronics and the drivers’ steering wheels in order to investigate. Should Renault be found guilty the French manufacturer could be disqualified from either a handful of races or the entire championship, costing them millions. A hefty fine could also be on the cards. However, worryingly Schumacher, a former F1 driver, says if the team was running such a system, the drivers had to known. “Such a thing cannot happen without the knowledge of the drivers,” he told Sky Germany. “Otherwise you had to do it manually – and if you do not have to do it all at once, you will notice that.” The German speculated that a ‘whistleblower’ must have been involved otherwise how would Racing Point know so much about Renault’s alleged system. “There are more than 1000 people working for both teams and one or the other will change jobs and then, of course, information like this may leak out. “That would be the most likely version.” If Renault are guilty it cheating, Schumacher says he hopes it wasn’t done deliberately. “As a team that would be very questionable and you would have to rethink the entire management level,” he added.
The drivers had to know. Or were they playing with a dummy bias adjuster. More likely they were told that they didn't have to adjust the bias, but it was OK. My guess is that the Hulk was smart enough to figure it out.
Hulk may have tried to use knowledge of the system to get a contract extension,or else the whistle comes out. Cyril cut him loose with 'ok we have nothing to hide ..go ahead ...make my day.'Bye Bye
I always thought the point of cheating was to win, not to go backwards. They’d have been better off not bothering judging by results hehehe
Only Renault could get busted cheating while losing. Couldn’t successfully manage a brothel with $100 in their pocket.
The rumor has it that the - former - CEO was the only one at the top of the company still having some interest for Formula One. The whole board is against it; give them only one cause for doubt, and they will march out. "Motorsport Magazine" had a feature just before the Japanese Grand Prix saying that the board at Honda is wondering if their presence in Formula One makes any sense at all, and what use they have, if they have one at all, for the hybrid technology of F1? We could very well end up with only Mercedes as an engine supplier, and Ferrari... Rgds
Renault has got worse over the years, and are not winning anymore like they used to. As for Honda, after spending a huge amount of money, they just emerge from years of poor results. I have no idea how the money spent in F1 can be justified to the shareholders.
Shareholders ?!? The Japanese bosses/managers/workers continue in order to secure honor for Honda in their return to F1.
Honor , LOL "Who pays the piper calls the tune " In the end, it's always the shareholders who make decisions; the management executes.
