You do not have to be a Ferrari expert to know that Ferrari will definitely produce a successor of the 250 GTO. This car is THE ICON and will celebrate its 60th birthday in 2022. The new GTO can be presented exactly in this year. Of course with another number combination, but with the abbreviation “GTO“, which was deliberately not used for several years. My guess for a new 250 GTO of the ICONA series i also see confirmed in that Ferrari was able to obtain a ban on production against the company of Ares Design in Modena. This company wanted to produce a limited edition of the 250 GTO for rich customers. And this would be a collision with the new GTO from the Ferrari Centro Stile in Maranello. Before 2022 they can possibly bring another icon of the 250 GT-Series (250 GT SWB or 250 GT Tour de France for example). @ferr9000: What do you know about these projects? ;-)
I’m not really sure what is the revelation you are purporting to be making... in any case ... I’m glad you liked the post ... which by the way has been dead balls accurate so far just sayin
You´ve written a very good article but in view of the 250 GT series (Icona), i think this new model starts later. 2022 is the final year of their model offensive and (as I said before) the 60th birthday of the 250 GTO will be a good occasion to present it. And I read somewhere that Ferrari only wants to release a new icona model every four years. But I hope you´re right and the model comes earlier in 2020, maybe as a new 250 GT SWB or 250 GT Tour de France! And the confidence level for the new 250 GT-series is 100%, sorry!
I think so... you can see it in their history: First the barchettas (=Monza SP), then the GT cars (track-to-street cars) and then the normal street cars. The F40 is an icon too but in my opinion they will be more focussed on the 250 series... but it´s Ferrari so you never know all...
from reuters GRAND TOURING One more launch is expected by the end of the year to take the total to five in 2019, including the F90 Stradale, Ferrari’s first hybrid car to be widely produced. “We want to grow, not by increasing the volumes of existing models but by adding new members to the Ferrari family,” said Chief Marketing and Commercial Officer Enrico Galliera, adding it was the highest number of releases for Ferrari in a single year and marked one of its healthiest periods. Ferrari has also promised several special edition hybrid cars and a utility vehicle, the Purosangue, which is expected by late 2022 as it seeks to almost double core earnings and boost margins to above 38% without sacrificing exclusivity. Chairman John Elkann hinted last month that the last release of 2019 could be another GT, more comfortable to drive on long journeys. GTs from the 1960s, some seating four people, are among the most popular at auctions and enthusiast events and Ferrari has said previously that about 40% of its total sales could come from them by 2022, up from 32% now. Elkann said that Ferrari, which shipped fewer than 10,000 cars last year, would not try to chase German rival Porsche which makes more than 250,000 sports cars and SUVs annually. “We’ll remain consistent with our original philosophy, to always deliver one car less than the market demands,” Galliera said on Monday. The ‘Cavallino Rampante’, or ‘Prancing Horse’, known for its racing pedigree and roaring combustion engines, wants 60% of its cars sold by 2022 to be hybrids. Ferrari is also considering a full-electric model, but that will not hit the road before 2023. full article https://www.reuters.com/article/us-ferrari-models/ferrari-mixes-sport-with-power-in-new-spider-and-gts-models-idUSKCN1VT0TH
I was in Maranello on 7,8 and 9 of September. I’ve seen prototypes with V6, V8 hybrid and V12 (apparently cause on 812 mule). What’s the next of Ferrari ? Hybridation can permit to give more life to V8 and V12 and I hope F8 Tributo will not be the last V8 but the last V8 without hybrid. Thanks for sharing! I really think we'll see full hybridization. Considering F1 is all hybrid for the considerable future, this makes sense. As a side note, I know Ferrari's adopted son and nephew are both going full hybrid. Makes the Pista and F8 Spider and whatever the 812 special edition will be (812 Tributo?) the last of the breeds is my guess.
First pic is 488 sucessor “Little brother” prototype without electric motor. Second pic is 488 sucessor “Little brother” prototype. Third pic is 812 prototype, one of the very first ones.
Hello ferr9000, apologies if you've already answered this, but are we getting a Lusso/Lusso T replacement next year? Lusso came into the market in 2016, and with Ferrari now changing from their 5 year updates to 4 years, is the V6/V6 hybrid going to be seen in a Lusso successor? Encouraged to get a Lusso for the family soon, so asking for any subtle hints...
