What is typically done with Ferraris where you can just buy a 1/4 panel? Do shops like you hammer and dolly panels back into shape and cut and remake panels the old way with english wheels etc?

Normally if a 1/4 panel is damaged the reinforcement metal behind the panel is crushed also so it has to be removed and replaced.

On newer Ferraris made from Aluminum heating and reshaping the metal weakens it and is not recommended. On older cars made from steel we remake the panels using the old one as a template. It really just depends on material, parts availability, and damage location.

Very impressive. I can’t believe this car was not a total loss. I would not want it back..... but the repair is unreal regardless.

It looks crazier than it is, a car will total in NY when the repair goes over 75% of its value or if its a clear structural loss like airbags deployed or main structural components damaged beyond repair. Its sad when older cars total just off value with light damage.

I’d have zero problem keeping that Highlander...if it had been fixed like this, i.e., properly.

Not all shops would/could have done it thusly, especially those who kow-tow (sp?) to an overly cheap/pernicious insurance adjuster.

All that money spent on insurance TV ads... more of it should be spent repairing damaged vehicles the right way, like Bradan does, whether exotic or everyday car your wife and kids are in. Choose your shop (and your insurer) carefully. John
