Hi, Just wondering when the 488 production ends or ended (for non Pista) I have a 488 Spider made in January 2019
There will be 488's on the line for the rest of the year. The last regular Pistas should be delivered during Q3 and Ferrari aim at having all Pista Spiders out the door during Q4. So many new cars scheduled, so they need to be done with the 488 and Pista stuff.
Doubtful they will finish the Pista Spiders this year. My Pista Spider is still in purgatory with the style department for a special request. I don't expect it to be built until next year.
488 (GTB,Spider,Pista) are "end of series", this provides Ferrari the ability to build 10% of the CY2019 (calendar year) production into CY2020 without having to comply with EU regulations (such as tighter emissions requirements that require GPF to satisfy), this is why Pista (mostly of the 488 family) production is continuing at a strong pace, so Ferrari can earn the right to build as many end-of-series cars into CY2020 (and production for the most part must be complete by June 30 2020) So, let us say 2000 488 family cars are built in CY2019, then into CY2020 Ferrari can build 200 more (10%), chances are the number will be higher. By the way, this is exactly why the F8 is not a part of the 488 family because for the end of series rules to function, the 488 model family must be discontinued. And, this is also why the Pista appeared about a year ahead of "historical expectations".
They won't. I have a close relative whos Pista Spider just went red 10. That's scheduled to start build in February. I have it on pretty solid info that Pistas will continue until Q2 with the last being delivered in Q3 before summer shutdown, and the last Pista Spiders being delivered in mid Q4 2020.
For non-Pista, I was told production ended for 488 GTB in Spring 19. Got one of the last GTB allocations with production date April 19, Spiders continued a bit longer than that from my understanding
Some spiders were delivered in Europe (i.e. not far from Italy...) after the summer break, so I tend to believe production has continued a little longer.
There are still 488 Spiders on the line at the very least. Local dealer has a car scheduled for Xmas delivery. Would not be surprised if there's also a GTB here and there. We are after all only two months into F8 production after the summer shutdown.
Ho fatto il tour in Ferrari il 22 Ottobre 2019 e in linea di montaggio solo 488 Spider, Pista , Pista Spider , Pista Piloti. nessuna F8 ....

So, uh, I know we're all into the Italian thing herd, but I think you need to keep with the initial language for all to keep up my friend. But what you saw fits well with my info. Still a couple of 488 Spiders of which you saw one, as well as all incarnations of the Pista including the Piloti, as well as F8T cars.
I did the Ferrari tour on October 22nd 2019 and in the assembly line only 488 Spider, Pista, Pista Spider, Pista Piloti. no F8 ....
I guess customers F8 production is not started yet, Ferrari just squeezes a few F8 on the line from time to time for press and demo cars; they probably have a few tail-end 488 spiders to produce and they also want to make as many Pista / Pista spider as possible before the end of the year.
