    There is no excuse for Ferrari, my new Cayenne Coupe has lithium and goes dormant/suspended after two weeks and lasts months - no trickle needed.

    It’s too early to give a considered analysis and the drive was mainly on the highway but my initial sense is, with particular reference to the Speciale Aperta I had :

    PLUSES FOR PISTA SPIDER

    Looks, stunning, especially in a colour where the carbon is contrasted. Jewel like. Maybe best looking V8 ever.
    Media interface better, but its no Porsche !
    Much faster, but mainly a torquey feel and more like my 675LT. Getting hard to enjoy these cars without being a social pariah, so fast.
    Steering (touch slower and more feel, much better IMHO)
    Gear change even better and quicker

    NOT SO STRONG

    Aurally is boomy and deep sounding, not bad but nothing like the motorbike shrill of the Speciale
    Brakes not great when cold, can’t recall by comparison, but not confidence inspiring when cold
    Feels a really big car and requires great concentration, have been messing round all Summer in a modest GT4 Boxster Spyder, the latter was much more “fun” and relaxing (yes you heard me right)
    Shame it’s not numbered even 1/899 would have been nice
    Boy these cars are getting expensive, I recall my 430 Spider fully loaded in 2008 was £135,000, 599 a year later £185,000. This was £365,000. Eleven years of negligible inflation offset by ceramics as standard and service plan
    Vodafone tracker fobs and system total rubbish, surely in 2019 can be integrated
