2007 F430 spider 10k miles When driving around town the brakes are very grabby. I expected the same when I was going 120mph on the highway and had to brake for a car in front of me. I was getting quite nervous I wasn't going to be able to slow down in time. The further I pressed the pedal the harder the resistance in the pedal, meaning it was hardly moving towards the floor, almost as if there was some kind of pushback against my foot, and the pedal felt hard instead of plush like around town. Anyone experience this? Any thoughts? I'm wondering if its a fluke. Only happened that one time. Thanks.
No, my 360 has never given me trouble at those speeds hard braking. Were you downshifting as well?? Second, why in the heck were you going 120 mph on a public street?? Go get some track time
I was passing someone and became temporarily over zealous, got off the next exit, local highway near my house, I know all the ins and outs
When was the last time the brake fluid was changed and the system, including the master cylinder, was bled? Should be at least every other year, every year on many models.
The CCM discs and pads need a bit of hard use to work well. Have a few more hard stops from high speed (a single stop from 120mph doesn't really constitute 'high' for CCM).
I had the same issue going in to a right hand turn running a little over 120 did not thing it was going stop hard enough then I remembered ccb where not warm up yet . I have herd of people that had wrecks before because they where not warm up yet
I have to agree with the earlier poster. Go get some track time to figure it out. If you’re getting a hard pedal but little retardation it sounds more like gassing between pad and rotor. Pads could be glazed. Get a specialist to check them out and then go to a track to get a proper feel for them. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
The carbon ceramic brakes on my car need a few applications to get them working at maximum, however you still shouldn't have had difficulty stopping. Mine are smooth around town as well.
Be very, very, careful braking into a turn at those speeds. Regardless of type of brakes. Just my $0.02 from what I've learned tracking my car. YMMV.
My F-car is for "special occasions". .. My team races a 1997 BMW 328i.. endurance racing! Nine hours on Saturday and about 6 hours on Sunday. Parts n tires are relatively inexpensive and it's still a blast. My teammate wrecked his 06 Viper a few weeks ago at Thunderhill to the tune of $22,000 in repairs. Yeah, he's gonna stick with tracking our 328i from now on.
