I still am not super familiar with my Mondial T so I have a question.
I checked oil level per the manual, when hot, right after shutdown and it registered just above half on the dipstick 400 miles ago.
Then today I pulled the dipstick on a cold engine and there was no oil on it.
Is it normal for there to be no oil on the dipstick when cold?
Is it safe to start it up?

It’s a dry sump engine so it will show no oil if the car is cold. You only test the level as per the manual when the car is at temperature.

Yep first time I checked mine cold I had a heart attack. I check it when the water temps are normal operating temps with the car idling.

Thank you. I figured it may be normal but was a little creeped out about it.

    I check my F119 when it's running.
First time I checked mine hot (I also do it with the car on), i had a heart attack then put 4.5 quarts in. Fortunately I hadn't gone anywhere and it was day 1 pre-flight check. It didn't lose a drop up to my major, and hasn't lost a drop since. super weird.
