I’ve hear that more than half of Ferraris are red. Of the other half, I’m assuming that most of those are black or white just by watching the classified. Does anyone have any real statistics on color production numbers? I am considering more ‘subdued’ colors in a California 30. Thanks in advance.

I debated this when choosing my Cali T. In the end I went for Grigio Silverstone and I think it looks great.. though slightly understated (which is what I wanted).

    Very nice!! Handling speciale package?

Red is reputedly easiest for resale, if that's a factor. Finding one without shields also keeps it subdued.

I wanted a subdued color, and one that was not common. Wife saw an avorio Cali @ Miller in CT with cioccolato interior and that was that.

Last I checked, there were two black and one azzurro Cali's for sale by F-chatters. Cali also looks great in white and grigio. Boardwalk has a white over iroko (milk chocolate) Cali that's really nice.

If it were me, I'd look through the Cali picture thread and see the different options.

Awesome, Mr. Phillips - that is an amazing color - red but a bit relaxed. I love it; congratulations.

I’ll check out that picture thread as suggested too. Thanks

While most common Ferrari colour is indeed Rosso Corsa, it is also somewhat specific to the type of car and model. Yes there's a lot of red Calis, but like with the FF and Lusso, the GT cars are often more subtle colours. A Rosso Corsa 458 is definitely in the "resale Red" category when Rosso Corsa, but according to the dealer here, that's definitely not the case for a Cali/Cali T/Porto.

Why are you interested in what majority is red if you're looking for other colours? If you are thinking resale in general, I'd say as long as the spec is tasteful, many colours will be equally desirable. The only colour I've heard people shy away from is Giallo Modena. Even Verde British looks very classy and elegant on the Cali.

Gorgeous Ferrari’s! Wow. Regarding red vs. other colors, yes, I am considering the resale issue. I know that it really doesn’t matter and I shouldn’t think of that — use it and love it, but I still think of the ‘asset’ issues. Not to mention, “damn that 430 in red is amazing.”

once the red was just one, FER300/6 (rosso Corsa). Today red colors are… many! So most are still red, but not the same red…

Wise words. I think if you really want red, and want subdued - if that is possible! - then IMO the darker reds like Mugello, Fiorano, etc. are a great option. Best of both worlds!

Well, Glasurit FER300/6 is just one of various incarnations of Rosso Corsa. Several prior, and several since. But FER300/6 is by leaps and bounds the best Rosso Corsa that ever was. Lush, deep, clear. Nothing like the milky and flat PPG variant which is a sorry excuse for what the colour once was.

Saw a Testarossa and Speciale parked next to each other back in April. They both had paint detailed by the same guy. The paint on the TR was like something sweet you just wanted to lick or swim in. 300/6 is truly special.

Agree, but that's due only to personal taste, of course. For me 300/6 was THE red, as it was the Ferrari official red when I was 18 years old (1980): at my eyes it will remain the best red forever

    Nothing beats rosso corsa.

Then I saw an f8 spider in yellow.

    Yellow is the new red.
