Hi all, I've been looking for a "no-brainer" deal on a gated 360/430 and no luck yet. I have, however, been following this listing for weeks and was wondering if general consensus would be that next owner is going to be the last owner? (for all practical purposes).

    Have you driven it?

There are plenty of cars that have rebuilt titles that drive well. If bought well, they can be bargains. Get a PPI from someone who knows what to look for.

Yes, selling it later will have the potential buyers asking the same questions you have now. Can you live with that? If so, go for it.

Not at anywhere near that price, and not without a full explanation and pictures of all repairs and pre-repair info.

Though I myself am in CA, I'd have a PPI done at either a F dealer or a reputable independent. I believe car was originally advertised as a theft recovery but a VIN search brought up previous listings that mention front end collision. ONLY reason this is even a thought is the fact that it's now rebuilt and being sold by a dealer in CA so title and smog won't be a surprise. If things don't get thrown off track for me, I plan to keep this purchase (whatever specific vehicle) for a good while...at least as long as I have my POS Toyota pick up truck, which is probably going to outlive me, just so I can finally sport the "My other car is a Ferrari" plate frame (yes, I'm a product of the 80s) and smile all day when I'm driving either car as I'd probably be one of the only owners of 2 such contrasting vehicles who could back up the frame's message lol

Would certainly request/dig up all I could as far as explanation/pics but I'm pretty much in the dark as far as strike price (even if everything does check out fine). This is the other site I found:

Way overpriced for salvage. Unless you don't care about resale...

I totally care about resale so am I wrong in assuming that rebuilt would be in a different category?

got it, thanks and so a difference might be that an insurance company that doesn't cover a salvaged car might cover a rebuilt title right?

All depends how it drives and what the damage was, etc. If you don't care about resale, the car might not be a bad purchase. Problem is it's a salvage car. I wouldn't pay that with the salvage title. I'd be paying $30's to 40s regardless of the 3-pedal. though with my luck I write this and they appreciate to the moon and become $200,000 cars.
    I doubt it.. but still....

Ha...if they do we'd both be more regretful for not buying a clean title 2002 @ $80-90K.

Right? :) full disclosure: i didn’t buy a 512bb when they were $95k because I couldn’t afford to. Not because I didn’t think they’d one day be worth more...

If you care about resale then tops 40 for it. Might be worth a bit more, like 45k, but 40 is safe.

Well if it's proper, I don't think I would pass it up at those prices. Thanks for the input

Seller indicated it was simply a parts theft but other reports say otherwise so do your due diligence...

One of the original (pre-salvage) owners of this very car was active on here on FChat when he had the car. Search for the VIN on FChat and you’ll find him. He sold the car, but keep reading and you’ll discover what really happened.

Reminds me of the time I was living in my singer's basement with no more than a case of beer to my name and watched a Mondial on ebay go for $15k.
