Does anyone have any experience with Nachi Japanese bearings? They make lot's of the bearings that we use on the 308.
    Thank you

Nachi are a highly respected manufacturer of high quality bearings - We use them for all manner of low speed and high speed applications (along with NSK, SKF, NTN, Koyo and *** bearings).

As with any quality bearing, providing they are specified, handled, installed, and where applicable - lubricated correctly (some bearings may be pre-lubricated and sealed), they should give years of untroubled service.

Sorry I didn't get back to this sooner guys.

The mystery bearing company is: F - A - G bearings (minus the hyphens)

I forgot that in the USA, f - a - g has certain offensive sexual connotations, that it doesn't have in Europe (in fact, here in the UK, f - a - g is slang for a cigarette)

Site of a highly destructive bombing raid some years back.

Good products provided you get the German ones and not those made in some fledgling East European democracy or worse yet some 3rd world country.

My son was born just a couple kilometers from where my Uncle may have dropped a 'Pickle-Load' of 250 Pounders.

I met my wife in a castle a few more kms down the Main River from F.A.G., and SKF and SACHS.

YEP. We trashed a lot on that first raid, and yet ball bearing manufacturing actually went UP afterwards.

Our strategy was SOUND. Our settings on the bombs (Detonate on Impact) a HUGE MISTAKE.

The B&W movie '12 O'Clock High' with Gregory Peck has actual combat footage of that very raid.

My son's Uni in Regensburg was evaced over the weekend due to an UXO 250lb bomb being unearthed during a nearby construction project, from that raid.

History 'looping' and poking me dead in the chest, is always amazing to me.
