Hi Akitaman/ anyone else who can chip in.
What fluid types/dilution rates are you using to get these results?
I'm planning on buying one to clean up Aluminium engine parts.
I've been told that units with dual fequency (28khz/40k/hz) and a degassing function are better, as they can safely clean a wider range of material. Does anyone have experience around this comment?

I have a 3L ultrasonic for small parts and stuff (like my wife’s jewelry).

I have been surprised how well simple water with a bit of laundry soap works for greasy parts (and my wife’s jewelry).

For more aggressive cleaning, I use mineral sprits. To minimize volume, I put the parts in a plastic bag, cover the part in mineral spirits and submerge the (bottom half of the) bag in a plain water bath. Plastic is transparent to ultrasonic waves.

Holy cow! Reading this thread for the first time piqued my interest so I went out to the garage and put a piece of tin foil in my ultrasound cleaner with tap water for two minutes.

Apparently it doesn't hurt to stick your fingers in the ultrasonic bath while the thing is running but it is good at dissolving cartilage. Try a chicken bone too.

If you are shopping for a used ultrasonic machine the aluminum foil test is a great way to see if the machine actually still works.
