Thanks. I so wanted to try the Gordon Ramsay butter basting trick, but after a long day at work, I opted for less fuss.

It's super easy. I did some prime ribeye earlier this week and it was epic.

how can steak be better in pan/oven than on grill? i get it if want to make sauce like au poivre or something but when its just steak, i say grill is the way to go.

I used to think that way also, but no longer. Juicier and easier to perfect in cast iron. 2-3 min per side on smoking heat, rest 7-9 min on wire rack on counter, put back in with butter for 2-4min per side depending on desired internal preference. Money.

Since I didn't make the Kirkland pesto last night, maybe tonight. Not sure if I feel like going out, but if I do, I'll probably get a beef taco pizza. Sort of craving one.

Its raining and getting dark by 5pm here. I don't like driving in the dark with rain. Made the pesto, should have done homemade. Image Unavailable, Please Login

Homemade is better and so easy, I should have done it. Kirkland is good, they sell a ton of pesto...…………. Brother is over watching Rams Vs Steelers. He doesn't like the taco pizza, so we are getting a large meat lovers.

What’s up with a Popeyes recently? We have one kind of close to us and it’s been average busy until about two weeks ago and it’s now nuts! Traffic back up out into the main road. Crazy. What happened?

Happy birthday to your mom! I’m sure many wonderful memories.

My mom gave us a huge scare recently and thankfully she’s fully recovered. Getting back to normal after a few months. It could have been very different.

Good stuff happening here of late Gents! (and max with the camera...very nice). I've been offline when in Italy. I may start a thread to cover our meals there rather than clutter up this one as I started to do. Anyways, back in the UK, tired after a long travel day, so went to the Indian place in the hotel. Solid, but not particularly noteworthy in the near 100% Indian/Pakistani area we are in...its gonna be restaurant meals vs. home-cooked for us until early December...sucks living in a hotel for 2+ months (wasn't the plan, but the flat we had reserved had major issues and we had to find another, which we did, but not available until Dec 1).
