Here's an outlier. Makes no sense whatsoever. The repair estimates they had were about $45000, and that was based on a visual check. No one knew if the engine turned or its condition. https://www.artcurial.com/fr/lot-1988-ferrari-testarossa-no-reserve-3974-243
I had a chance to buy one 87 at 50k cdn and I passed. The car was sold for that price to someone else. It needed everything and had 75k miles. Was all running and drivable.
Was used in Guadeloupe until 2011. That's great! Of all the islands I think they have the best roads.
Back lol Been quiet here. I guess we all saw that 512tr on BAT...140k, not enough imo for this car. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Welcome back. I am now following this thread and will attempt to referee the different viewpoints. @Natkingcolebasket69 - this thread is quite long, so pardon me if it takes time for me to catch up. In the spirit of harmony, I just want to know your position clearly. What is your viewpoint on current prices for 4 cohorts? 1) Garage Queen time capsules (i.e. < 1000 mile museum examples) 2) Excellent condition but lightly driven (i.e. 1,000-9,999 miles) 3) Good condition but driven 4) Driver's cars Sort of loosely following Hagerty's 4 condition types.
Hi Paul Well my opinion is of course my opinion but based on actual sales... The more ppl are willing to share the more we get an accurate picture 1-Collector items are few and far between. The couple we saw this year seem to have fetch close to 200k at auction 2-Excellent condition should, IMO, be split and here is why: A) excellent condition, red maintenance up to date , classiche etc should still get 125-130k. It depends if it’s a dealer; flying mirror as well B) Same as above but no service , data seems to meet a resistance at the 120k mark C) Note there have been some interesting colors which fetched more and it’s a median price. 3-I would then look 10-20k mile cars with service as cars that do get 115-120k, no service will be closer to the 110-115k mark Anything above 20-30k miles gravitates a lot more towards 100k 4-Driver Cars, Cara that sat above 30k miles seem to get 90-100k. 5-Drivers with miles-70-80k One thing I encourage ppl to do; if they are interested to see how much their car is worth is test the market via their dealers. When I tried to sell Mine Ferrari of SF said 80k as a trade, Riedge (??)(believe it’s the member)who traded his at Ferrari (of SD) got like 75k for it. Of course it’s not rule of thumb . Parnelli for instance bought and sold his with TR bought in the Bay Area with service 91,5k in the space of 3 months. It was price to sell and it ...Sold fast! I bought and sold in mid 90’s a car from ferrai with service , 25k miles. Gary, Xplodee also bought their cars with good history close to the 100k mark. That’s what the average median price is based on actual figures which I’m more than happy to see more of whatever trend it goes : up or down. The time of the year seems to indicate a down trend with a year to year price being stable Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Seems reasonable to me, although admitedly, I am no expert on TR prices. If anybody wants to disagree with the above ranges, I encourage one to do so and explain why. It can be done with no personal attacks or attempts to denigrate one's character.
To recap, @Natkingcolebasket69 ranges are as follows 1) Museum, or one of Kind, ultra low mile (<1000), pristine, 10/10 examples - 200K+ 2) Excellent condition, low miles (<10K), 9/10 examples - 120K-130K 3) Average Miles, Good condition, 7/10, 8/10 examples - 110-119 4) Drivers - 6/10 and below examples up to 109K My range would be 200K + (Top Of Class) mid 100s (almost top of class) low 100s (average) Below 100 (the rest) Anybody find these ranges ridiculous or unrealistic?
oohhh, you're absolutely right! not sure the context of the past disagreement. @Natkingcolebasket69 what was the models in question? Cheers
Well the context was & that lead to the ban is : I’m saying those are the prices I see and have been reported. Some members disagreed; when asked to provide data they didn’t or only provided highly priced car or things like private party sale for more. I am happy if they do but evidence was key in my book. i get lost between threads but im pretty sure someone here as been trying for about 6 months to buy a 512tr with 20k miles for around 150k and they have had no success. which puts the 512tr market at 170k X 230k for 92 or 93 with miles vs 94 clean with no miles. 512M kept aside.
Thanks, I mean as in the price ranges. I kept the 512Ms out, what (if any) price differential are there from Gen 1 and gen 1.5? Gen 1.75 to me is the 512Ms.
honestly no idea - dont really follow them as i dont own one. the 512tr i feel like i have some grasp of and i like to keep things simple so 170 x 225. maybe high 2s or 300k for absolute time capsule...
Yes that’s correct... Just look at BAT as an indicator... cars sit and sit... u have to have a great network to sale those. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
LOL guys don't get your panties in a bunch over Boke's trolling habits. He is kind of a funny a guy I'll give him that and you're playing right into his hands, he's quite good at it and posts some crazy stuff This statement should have given it away I don't think anybody on here would have any sympathy for somebody who has "everything they have to spare" in their one car. That speaks for itself and that person should be driving a car that they can comfortably own. But hey it's a free country, just don't expect any sympathy if you take a bath. And hasn't Merlin been sitting on those cars for like 5 years now? LMAO. I wouldn't touch them with a 10 foot pole.
Have u guys seen davide cironi’s latest testarossa video? Its in italian but u can add subtitles. Davide is the man, but im biased as he is a paisan, literally from the same town my family is from.
There are three motivational areas folks come from with these price threads. People can be all 3. One: Price Manipulators Two: Price Prognosticators Three: Price Seekers All three could range from good faith to devious. One can honestly explain why a car is over/undervalued using facts, opinions, or bad faith falsehoods. I'm not convinced yet that either @BOKE or @Natkingcolebasket69 engaged in bad faith. I just think they both have a disagreement, hence the opportunity for all of us to engage with intellectual honesty. One can espouse their honest opinion without trying to 'manipulate' the market or resort to personal attacks. @Natkingcolebasket69 gave his ranges, of course one is free to disagree, but I don't think his motivation is to 'tank' the market. Always happy to be corrected if there is evidence to the contrary.
