Thanks. Mom wasn't much of a cook, to be honest. After a long day at work, she'd usually whip something up quick and cheap like pasta or stew or soup. We ate lots of pasta! Her other specialty, which I need to recreate was London broil. Once every other month or so, she'd make it. I need to hunt down a top round steak and some Worcestershire sauce!

Saturday night we went out with some Ferrari friends. It was a wine tasting hosted by a local cafe.

They did not skimp on wine! Since wife was designated driver, she sipped and poured the remainder in my glass.

The other night, we got our roughly once per annum craving for pizza delivery. Domino's. Sausage and pepperoni. Thin crust want too bad. I'm good for another year!

My vinegar. I brought back a mason jar of mother from my Aunt’s house in Verona many years ago. I have been eating this (in essence) same vinegar for over 50 years......for as long as I can remember going down in her basement to drain her cask. I use only good Chianti. I used to eat Dominos. But they've gone down hill here. In the 1990's, my dad as a broker was going to take the Canadian company with the Dominos franchise rights to Canada public. But Dominos USA, wouldn't let them take it public. My dad did invest in Canadian Dominos, but sold out in the early 2000's.

I've never seen anyone make vinegar at home. This old time chemistry major is intrigued!

    Something like this?

The crust was quite good I thought. Toppings made it kind of oily, so it was good while hot and fresh. It did not make good "cold pizza" the next day. ☹️
Oh yeah, and a lot saltier than I am used to!

Masala Zone in Soho (no other location!) is good for easy Indian.
Brick Lane is the best of course.

Thin crust is such a waste of time. It's like carboard.

Tom. All I need is a mother and GOOD wine. U can find the mother online. I use a 2:1 ratio of wine:water. Then all u need is time.

I was going to get Japanese, but today is Canada's version of Veterans Day. So the restaurant was closed. The Italian place in same mall was also closed. Didn't feel like McDonalds or Wendy's, my other choices in the area. Ran into the grocery store and bought a "fresh" tortellini package and a jar of sauce. It was o.k...……... Decided to have a late lunch, early dinner. Tried a new to me Japanese restaurant. Got salmon and tuna sashimi with chopped scallop rolls and California rolls. I was a little disappointed in the rolls. Too similar. Price was also on the high side, $29 Vs $26 at my regular place. Regular place has better rolls. Image Unavailable, Please Login

I bet you can find excellent Chinese in the UK. They had special immigration rules for Hong Kong, before the 1997 hand over. Canada did too.

I'm still planning tonight's dinner, have no idea what I'm having.

I should clairfy too, that my comments are strictly about normal pizza chains and not quality pies that are like a thin crust.

I really haven't eaten much in the past 24 hours. Half a protein bar, half a thing of yogurt and peanuts. Going in easy with some mahi mahi for lunch, but if my stomach feels better I may have to get something greasy for dinner.
