I like it. It does echo Jag/Porsche/Aston quite a bit so no big points for originality, but they stole all the right bits and put them together nicely, so for a modern car I think it looks really well done. I'm assuming this is meant to cover the "modern era elegant daily driver GT" category which it will do nicely. I like it a lot more than the Portofino. Interior looks a bit too iphone like though. I would probably be more comfortable driving this than an 812.
Looks great in the photos and should look even better in the flesh. Corporate Aston Martin is probably scratching its head wondering “where do we go from here?”
Interesting... wait. Which one is more muscular although almost identical? Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
not sure if anyone agrees but i think it has some similarities with the maserati alfieri (i.e. the roma) but I hope they do allow the alfieri to have a v8 (not just a v6)
Ferrari in that photo reminds me of a 911 with stretched hood. Aston Martin reminds me of a Nissan 370Z. I suspect the Roma would look nice in burgundy. I think the only item that is a “fail” is the touchscreen “buttons” on the wheel.
I don’t mind the looks at all. I would have some interest as a convertible or targa not in a hardtop. Ps. The Shimee video is palatable only with the mute button on.
Not a fan. Ferrari is pumping out new models faster than Instagram. I see this being added to the list of cars you have to buy to be able to buy cars you want to buy.
I like it, a baby Daytona in looks, it’ll go like a scalded cat...... sophisticated looking and the right badge. I bet Aston and AMG are crapping their pants about now
I'll reserve judgement until seen in person, hard to appreciate just from pics and videos. I do like the interior, but agree, they should have shelved the rear seats, no actual use - if someone wanted a true 2+2, FF.
As a daily drive... not in the least, ignoring the fact that a Vantage’s 430hp is fairly boring in comparison to an F Type R’s 550hp, and the Jaguar is far better executed aesthetically and riotously amusing to drive
LOVED it from the three photos released yesterday until I just saw the Aston Martin front lights.<sigh> I was dreaming of a Daytona uprising.
not really.....their cars, which arguably had this similar look FIRST, are also for sale at half the price.....so the comparison will really be in their favor.
That’s exactly what I thought, too. The absence of aero go-fast accoutrements and excessive surface details is refreshing. The 550/575 series was about the last to take that approach.
I suppose, but certainly Aston trade on the look of the car rather than the performance, which is never usually class leading, the new Roma I think sneaks away with the ‘beautifully elegant’ badge that Aston usually would win, people would pay for more those looks I’m sure. Maybe though, I put the wrong two names in my quote, you have a very good point about pricing, although Aston’s top of its range would be competitors I think, rather than vantage. AMG, yep, I’m not familiar with their biggest expense as I haven’t ever considered buying one - judging by S-classes at £150000, I figured they may well be pushing their fast metal at way higher, which presumably isn’t the case (and rightly so, I don’t consider them in the same league as Aston or Ferrari at all)
I am told its the v8 engine from the F8 but with a power output of around 620 to 660 bhp Sent from my CLT-L09 using FerrariChat.com mobile app
From what I've read, it seems that the Roma will be priced at around 200,000 euros in its home market which is within 10,000 or so of the Portofino. It seems the new car is based on a heavily modified Portofino spaceframe. I prefer the Roma's styling - OK the Portofino has the folding roof but the attraction of open top driving is not so great, and no doubt a spider version will follow on eventually. Is it the end of a short life for the Portofino? Marco
It’s about time they came up with a traditional 2+2 alternative to the Lusso humpback. Its clean lines hark back to the 456 one of my favorite looking 2+2s but it does unfortunately look AM derived but performance should be leagues better than the AM and AMG competition. And in a year or two the performance version will be even more so Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
