Are you sure it’s the tank? There’s a cover over the tank that comes off and underneath are hoses that usually leak

 

let me ask the mechanic to take more pictures to share .

Have a read through this. Lots of pics of what it looks like when the cover is removed. I bet one of the hoses is leaking and not the tank

Anyone who has to replace a flat tyre on their macan would understand the crazy setup. not only u have a space saver tyre but you need to pump the space saver up using the 12v outlet and the air pump before u can use it.
The car is meant for off road .. really? !

I think when they claimed ‘off road’ they may have meant the side streets around Rodeo Drive... or perhaps the average Aussie highway?

 

Well 430's don't come with a spare tyre but you do get a pump that doesn't work..........

 

The Cayenne and Touareg are the same.
And to top it off, the wheel you remove won't fit in space for the "space saver" so it ends up somewhere in the car (the passengers lap ? : ).
One could order a Touareg with a rear swing away spare tire holder for a full size spare, but about .0001 % of owners did that.

 

So, the Germans employ Italians for the strategic options in the cars ??

Spare wheel ??, we don't need no steenken spare wheele !!

 

That's a common thing lately, e.g. you have to deflate the space-saver in a 612 to make it fit in it's spot.

Run-flats are a better solution and, now that I've driven XEROGO on them, I don't see any downside.

 

No one ordered it as they can’t bear the thought of making the Touareg uglier than it is ..

Sounds like a silly solution for up market users of cars ...... I hope Giovanni Millard knows his truck spare is like that
