The hole on the bottom goes straight through the shaft so no matter how you pin it on the top it doesn't affect the bottom.

CaptainCNC sells the same gear but he claims his is better because it's machined and not cast. Maybe contact him? I don't think USPS priority mail would cost anywhere near $90.

Had the same concern with the spindle spin, glad to know it doesn't matter. Highly recommend the captain, fast TAT.

Great service from Capt Z. Just let down by how long it took to get mine through us customs and into post system there. and also time taken to get back in post here.
added to that a £50 customs and handling charge on top was a nuisance as well.

But at least i now have a great working system.

at the risk of asking a silly question, how do you get at the front actuators?

Under the hood, you need to remove the felt covering. First lift the rubber lip from around the enclosure - the trunk. Remove the A/C inlet. Remove the screws in the metal band inside of the compartment and the metal inside belt. You should be able to remove the felt piece. Beware that when removing the rubber weather stripping, there will be this white powdery, oily residue that litters the inside of the trunk space. That is a Teflon lubricant to help the rubber weather strip installation. Yes, its a mess, but just vacuum it up. Now the shock uppers are exposed for service.

I gave myself a headache trying to wrap my head around the 270deg too. I know this is a 4+ year old thread but it's given me some peace of mind. My dash light illuminated a few days ago. I found that the front left shock gear and actuator gear broke. I ordered new shock gears from Ricambi and sent my broken actuator to the Captain today.

But... my buddy happened to drop by. While I was placing the order for the parts, my buddy reached in and turned the gear (whats remaining of it) several times both ways and he doesn't remember how many times. So I've been trying to figure out how to find 'home' before I mount the new gear and pin it. Are there only 2 possible positions to mount the gear? I wish there was at least a flat spot on the inner side of the gear and shock gear shaft. That would make me feel A LOT better, LOL!

Actuators are here. What a turnaround 5 days including shipping. Thanks Capt'n! http://www.captainzcnc.com/

Wont be able to install and test for awhile as it snowed this week and they salted the hell out of the roads.

But visually they look fantastic. The internals are all metal (aluminum?) now and look great.

You don't mind the white plastic ring around them? Thinking of putting mine at the front where they won't be seen.

Mine are scheduled to arrive tomorrow, that's just shy of a 6-day turn around! Impressive indeed! Can you post pics of the internals you speak of?

    Hi,

I just discovered that the plastic gear inside the actuators for my rear suspensions are broken, it seems that captainzcnc doesn't exist anymore. Anyone know of someone else that can fix this, or if it's possible to get the gears for a DIY? Living in Europe, so if anyone know someone at this side of the world who can tackle this, it would be greatly appreciated!

Well it's the plastic gear inside the actuator, NOT the metal on top of the suspension. Haven't been able to find that...
