And, after watching a bunch of guy/gals who are much more worthy than I walk to the stage and collect awards & ribbons....

The officials called my name, little ole me, with an odd wedge nosed Ferrari from the mid 80's that not many of them had even seen before, an original car with a few "age wrinkles", a few things that STILL need to be fixed, and what do you know ? They reached deep into the box and pulled out one more ribbon !!!

    HOW ABOUT THAT !!

Congrats!! I've never been much of a car show guy but there is certainly a real sense of pride when your car gets some recognition especially among all of most "loved" Ferrari's.

Funny to me sometimes how I went from a Mondial, probably the most reviled of all Ferrari's, only to see them finally come into their own about 10 years later, at least somewhat. I feel very much the same about my 400i.. if I could get it to stop leaking oil anyway. ;)

    Congrats again, beautiful car!

I saw this car on the streets of Watkins Glen in September at the vintage day event in town. There were two or three 250 GT's there. I did not go to the track for the races.

Gary - sorry I missed it! I had it on my calendar coupled with the Historics in Daytona as well, but alas - duty called for an out of town charity event the entire weekend! Glad to see you got an award, bud - congrats!

Hey ! Thanks guys !! I was so surprised when I heard my name called, I don't remember what they said after that..."Preservation Prize " or "Honorable Mention" or "Atta Boy Award" or what....then cameras started clicking, somebody yelled "smile" and my 4 minutes of fame were over.

There's always next year...."we" have another car show in a couple of weeks, Dec 7th for the Treasure Coast Vintage Car Club at the Port Saint Lucie Botanical Gardens, did this show last year. Next we have the Pine School in Hobe Sound on Jan 18, this will be my third year at this show, then there will be the Elliott Museum Show in March, ( also third year in show ), here in Florida these 4 local car shows are in the late fall or winter, it's WAY to hot to do this in the summer.

I enjoy having people see my car, I tell them about the details that make it special, how "unique" these cars are, ( the true gearheads say WOW when I open the hood ), I ask if they have ever sat in a Ferrari, most say no, and as long as the don't have a knife or pen in their back pocket, I let them sit, ( I do warn them not to hit the lamp control switch with their knee ), several times I have offered the drivers seat to young kids.....they get in carefully, hold the steering wheel and look out the front windshield imagining they are really driving a Ferrari !

    Again, Thanks !
