Pop Warner football team in Compton needed to raise dough to go to a playoff game. Florida, I think. The team requires the kids to have a 3.1 gpa. Anyway, Sherman is a Stanford grad from Compton, so apparently he liked all that and kicked in $5K to help out the kids...T
I am a Pats fan, but I agree with you, that was a fumble. Is George Blanda still around? I don't think there is a free agent kicker that would be any more reliable, I mean, after all, there is a reason a free agent kicker is a free agent kicker.... GOOD kickers are not free agents, even the FA the Pats signed is not doing so well... It's pretty clear - he was telling him what to say to the press when they ask about it after the game. They said he hurt his hip, but he never went under the tent, nor were any medical staff looking at him, so.... draw your own conclusions. I think New Orleans might have something to say about that, and so might Seattle. I'd like to say Green Bay and Minnesota might also, but you just never know which one of those teams will show up - the good one, or the crappy one. And of course I will be the one to say '5K? That's all? To send a team to Florida? I think he could ante up about 100K, he earns that in about one quarter of a game'...
At a minimum, it'd be nice to have an NFC Championship decided by the players rather than the zebras. You know, I read recently that Clark caught that ball 11 feet off the ground!!
