I'm going to have front bolster leather replaced...Don't want to leave car at shop so have to remove seat and take it in.... Don't laugh I know I have never worked on my car but i really would feel better having it home in my garage while seat is being worked on Fernando at prestige ferrari upholstery (Best place in Los Angels) told me it was very easy just four bolts (6mm) so i'm going to get a 6mm Allan socket to remove them. Now my friends is there anything else I might run into ????? Thanks so much for you help, Bill HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYBODY !!!
Should be pretty straightforward, I'm sure you'll have it out in a few minutes. Don't forget to unplug the wiring harness for the power seat. Are you reupholstering only the bolster or the whole seat? If only the bolster, are you worried that the new leather will not match the rest of the seat?
Careful when you pull the seat out. Put a blanket over your sill, since the seat is heavy and you don't want to scratch the car with the metal base brackets. Also remove the bolts and tilt the seat to unplug motor wires, careful not to forget and rip them out. Makes sure you can open the door fully so you can tilt the seat headrest out then if available have someone help with the base. Your biggest risk is scratching the car

You will need to use the seat control to raise the seat and move it forward and back to be able to get a hex socket into the bolts. Also, you need to remove the bolt for the seat belt. The wires to the connector are loose under the seat to allow the seat to move forward and back.
Good call, I should remove mine to have the control panel trim fixed. Previous owner scratched the **** out of it
