After a year of searching for a Grigio Silverstone 458 Spider with black interior, racing seats, and carbon fibre racing package, I put a deposit down on it over the phone almost as soon as I got my daily CarGurus email notice. Gary at Wide World Ferrari sent me cell phone pics, then sent it to the service department for a CPO inspection. It was owned by one of their customers, so they knew the car and had been taking care of it. They put new PS4's on it, and I made arrangements to bring it to Colorado. I had never driven a Ferrari until this one arrived at my house. Just a life long dream. Luckily we had some beautiful weather for a couple of weeks after I got it, so my wife and I had several chances to do some open top drives. We live in the mountains west of Denver where there aren't many straight roads. Lots of twists and rolling hills. I will be keeping my 991.2 Turbo S as my daily driver, but this Spider is a totally different experience. We are so happy to have it. Thanks to the F Chat members for getting me up to speed.
I am in Denver too. If you want to get out for a drive someday - let me know (after this snow melts). Send me PM.
Thank you to all for the nice words. I don't know how to send a PM, but I would love to go for a drive when the weather cooperates. How do I send a message?
I live in Wales UK with similar topography to Colorado..Despite being a Porsche guy and just taken delivery of a 991.3GT3 RS WP with GPFs i always wanted a Ferrari. This time last year i found my ideal spec 458 Italia in my favourite Ferrari color which is Grigio Silverstone..My must haves were Carbon seats, alcantara interior and a few bits and bobs..I bought the car blind just based on pictures and doing a thorough PPI check and reading a very recent Ferrari Dealer health check. It got delivered a few days after New year and it was the first Ferrari i'd ever driven..I still have my Porsches however i think the 458 trumps them for specialness and a long term keeper for me.. Very similar story to yours just on the other side of the pond.Best of luck with your new Ferrari which is a very special Ferrari indeed.
Congrats and welcome to the 458 spider club! Best car I have ever owned, it truly is an experience every time you drive it.
