My 430 is showing service light for tire pressure, but tire pressure is right on per shop. Do sensors go bad? Sent from my iPad using FerrariChat.com mobile app
And the batteries are not replaceable. You have to buy new monitors Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk
As stated the TPMS sensors have built in battery’s and usually last around 10 years...depending on your Vin# there are two variants. Simple install one hour later your back on the road..I would strongly suggest you consider installing all four at the speeds our cars are capable it’s a safety thing. I replaced all four just after my purchase.. If your interested I can give you the brand I purchased..
Please share I know you said a simple install but you need to take tires off rims first .. or were you able to push tire down (off car and deflated) and squeeze the new sensor in ? Thanks in advance Sent from my moto g(7) using Tapatalk
As above... Haven’t seen any reports of being able to disable the dash light. Depending on your model year, you need to make sure to get the correct replacement sensors, they changed somewhere in 2007. Change all four since when one goes the others will be right behind. 2005-2007 there is a procedure in the manual to re-sync the sensors to the car (press the button under dash), 2008-2009 it’s automatic, no button Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro
Never tried it on the 430 but all prior models had the ability to turn it off via the correct generation Ferrari computer.
Installation: This can be done without complete tire removal [Experience would be necessary] and suitable tire machine This avoids the possibility of rebalance of wheel and tire... Complete removal would be the most comfortable road force and tire balance should be inspected. Like Brian said, the F430 was available with and without TPMS in different markets, and you can disable the system with an SD3 or good equivalent. When you start her, the TPMS lamp will illuminate and then go out. Sensor prices are pretty reasonable now and any good tire shop can replace them since they have been mandatory in the US since 2008. The shops have lots of experience and most have TPMS software tools. TPMS is handy for cars like ours, most with no spare tire.
It absolutely wouldn't. If that is really the problem. You can get TPMS warning light for many reasons. I had it triggered on my Scud once, God knows why. Disconnected the battery - it disappeared and never got back for a year until I sold the car.
Police radars can set off the system, as can other TPMS systems, if not well executed. I do not remember if the Scud has a calibration button or not. Most of them did and I would rather do that than a battery reset.
They do. The end result will be the same, however, as the 430s/Scuds also have a master switch in the trunk
The oem brand is HUF which can be found inexpensively online...around $45 each IIRC. As previously mentioned, there are two versions based on the year of your 430 (different frequency?). The cut off date is around mid 2007. You need the production month or VIN of your car to be certain which is correct.
I replaced my sensors two years ago and now have the warning light once again. Very frustrating because the shop scratched my wheels the first time.
That sucks...for both reasons. Which brand did you use? It appears from past posts that the oem Huf will last anywhere from 5 to 9 years until one or more fail. Mine were replaced in 2014 with oem from the dealer (previous owner did this) and I intend to replace with Huf this spring when I replace my tires.
