Time for me to post my car and my story. (Hope you don't find the photos too many). My first contact was at elementary school playing a card game with cars where there was the Ferrari BB 512 and watching the Monaco Grand Prix on the TV. Then having posters of a black Daytona, a red Testarossa and an F40 in my teenager room. Then studies, work, family, work, kids, work... I was dreaming of buying a used Ferrari, maybe a 360, maybe an F430, maybe a 458, then at some point I realized that I might be able to go for a new one too and get the full experience of ordering, specing and getting delivery of a brand new Ferrari! The 488GTB then? That's when the new Portofino was out, I liked the shape and the style and practical reasoning kicked in; I would enjoy much more a car like that with the extra space, having an infotainment system and most important my wife would find it better to get in such a car compared to the more claustrophobic and less gt passenger friendly 488GTB. So, end Sept 2018 I ordered the Portofino, got into that problem with the Rosso Portofino color, decided to change my mind to Roso Corsa (I am glad that I did) and did the final spec on June 2019 with MY2020 options and begin Nov 2019 got delivery of the car. I live in Belgium but I decided to have a PPF wrap in Topaz London, so I took the car there with the Euro-tunnel Shuttle. (in France they directed me to the large vehicle section which was very comfortable. But not on the return trip; it was very tight. From now on I will be booking a large vehicle ticket...) I am very happy with the end result from Topaz. I guess it tells that when there I saw a Monza SP2, 2 or 3 LaFerrari's, a Senna GTR, some crazy Lamborghini's. Now I am waiting to get the winter tires. I intend to drive it as much as I can. Here are some photos. And here the rest. The color looks much more intense and glossy now, but it doesn't help that the conditions are not the same. Thank you all ! Yes! I was not aware of that, what is it? On came the winter tires, Michelin Pilot Alpin PA4. 285 rear, but 235 front. BTW, I wanted to mention the Adaptive Cruise Control. I had seen Doug Demuro saying that it is a must have for heavy/stationary traffic and he is absolutely right. I tried it on the London ring road and it is really a great help; following the car in front, stopping and starting, you don't get tired at all in such heavy traffic. Maybe not the kind of info that you expect on this forum, but still I wanted to mention that. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I live in Belgium. (I went to London to get the PPF wrap). Sometimes we get snow. But I am most concerned about the ice, which can happen at any time and worse when you are not expecting it. Yes, it is part of the ADAS. If someone commutes in heavy traffic with lots of start/stops it is really a must have. You arrive fresh instead of tired.
Congrats on your new Ferrari, enjoy your perfect GT Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
Love it! Your story is very similar to mine. As is your spec (albeit different colour choices). I’ll second the effectiveness of the ACC/ ADAS stuff... I have a Tesla too and while the Ferrari one doesn’t steer for you the overall effect is probably more relaxing!
Congratulations, and a classic spec. I’ll join the others who can relate to your story, I’m the same way—a boyhood dream satisfied. My 2019 doesn’t have the adaptive systems, but I’m OK with that, since it’s not a daily driver for me. I took delivery in late June, and enjoyed it through the summer (had the same Rosso Portofino problem, switched to Rosso Fiorano, which I love). Unfortunately, where I live, the winters are severe, so it’s in storage now until spring. :-(

passed 11.000 Km (almost 7.000 miles) after my 1st year. I decided to buy another set of wheels and put the winter tires there. To my eye the original wheels look more summer-ish and the new ones more winter-ish. I have also received my personal gift box, with the miniature and the photos. Nice to look at when sitting at home Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Sometimes kids pass by and are ecstatic to see a Ferrari. They ask politely if they can take some photos, so how can I refuse. I even let them sit in the driver's seat so their friends can take a photo. As James May have said, "it's like hanging a famous painting on the outside of your house so everyone can enjoy it."
