    No VS heard here too.

Reason I got, was that the F8 fits in between the 488 and Pista, thus essentially making the Pista the VS of both.

Seeing what's in store with the LB hybrid V6 and the SF90, it's kind of hard to see exactly what purpose an F8 VS would serve. The LB will most likely be slightly faster than the Pista, just like the 488 was slightly faster than the Speciale. If we look at it from a Fiorano lap time standpoint I'm thinking along these lines.

    SF90 1:19.0
    LaF 1:19.7
    812 VS 1:20.0
    LB V6 1:20.5
    TdF 1:21.0
    Pista 1:21.5
    812 SF 1:21.5
    F8 1:22.5
    488GTB 1:23.0
    F12 1:23.0
    458S 1:23.5

It will take a lot of power to get a potential F8 VS into the same times as the 812VS could theoretically run i.e the LaF area. A 780PS SF90 engine alone in an F8 VS won't do it. I don't see it happening as it would need something like 850-875PS to do it of not more.

    Hello FChat,

The dealer in my hometown market, that's Saudi Arabia, said that there will not be a F8 Special Series or VS, if you will. He expects the hybrid engine successor (Little Brother as referenced by Ferr9000) by the end of 2021 as a 2022MY. Anyone getting the same information from their respective home markets? I do believe to a certain extent, especially from the other users' information for the emissions regulations taking place around that time.

    Same info.

LB debut in 2020 production starts after summer shutdown 2021. That's what I keep getting.

I mean if many have commented on the F8 being a stop-gap product for Ferrari, why the hassle of bringing out an F8 SS/VS? It really does not serve any purpose, other than just prolonging the chassis it's based on.

Heard some Pista owners/ordered have received an email from mission control in some ways pointing towards a possible F8 vs ?

    Anyone?

FWIW when I drove the F8 yesterday the marketing manager told me there will be an F8 VS. I asked him what they could possibly get out of the current engine, and he said it was capable of levels close to 900HP. So who knows, time will tell.

F 8 s sales are not at the waiting level; so you must buy an F8 for an F 8 VS allocation !:D
    I tell you NO F 8 VS !!!
Feeling of a lack of respect from Ferrari, as usual !!!

Was told yesterday about 12 month wait at my dealer assuming they could get more allocations, some have been told 18-24 months at other locations.

I'm new to Ferrari (coming from McLaren) and torn between finding a properly spec'd Pista or ordering an F8. I, too, have found lead-times in the 18+ month range, which has me leaning toward buying a Pista because I'm not sure the F8 is special enough that it warrants waiting up to two years for. Interested in thoughts from those with more Ferrari experience. TIA

look at the first deliveries month ...F 171 is for 2022 , so with 24 waiting months it will be sold out

  16. Go with the Pista.

Aside from getting the car now, the Pista is arguably a bit more special than a regular production F8, assuming you want that little bit of extra panache that a quasi-limited (i.e., limited in production time not in production numbers) edition Ferrari brings.

F8 deliveries > 18 months . In a way good to here. Dealers have to sell something in that slot. Looks like IMO 488's will move.

I was also told there will be a F8 VS but no indication on time to announcement, if it does come to market it will kind of upset the pista buyers [emoji51]

Why would it upset Pista buyers? don't you think if someone can afford to buy a Pista and they really wanted the unicorn VS that they wouldn't just buy one?

Im a pista owner and don't give a rats ass if this car comes. If it does and I like it better - ill buy it.

again- the ones rooting for the F8 VS to show up seem to be those people who don't own a pista. As a pista owner, makes zero difference to me because Ferrari has to continue to produce cars. The Pista will not be the latest and greatest, there will always be the next new thing.

Agree. It will or it won;t. There will be a lot to argue about until then- like the depreciation curve of the F8....

I think there’s one principle that will predict Ferrari’s behavior moving forward- will action A increase shareholder value and market or will action B?

At least we know how to predict.

And according to this principle there will be a F8 VS.

Well said. If I like the car I will buy it. Im not sure why people assume that the Pista is the last car Pista owners will ever purchase? Now my dealer has told me that there will be no F8 VS but Ferrari has time to change their mind. If its a great car Il most likely purchase it.

I'm not sure I fully agree with everything said in that post, largely due to the reduced delivery/ life cycle of the cars. If I got one of the last pista deliveries which, are still being delivered and a new car was launched say 6 months after I would be pissed. Anyhow its not about can afford its when you feel like you are deing taken for a ride that it gets to you

    Agree with Ipsedixit on this.

The market changes so quickly on these types of cars nowadays. It's also clear Pista has it all over F8 so it's an easy decision if money isn't an obstacle.

Funny thing, today I can buy a Pista with delivery kms for less than what mine owes me and, without any hoops or waiting around! So if you can live the moment now, I'd certainly do it where the opportunity presents.

Spot on. Some of the bravado I read on here makes me smile. Thankfully I am still fortunate enough to take a nasty beating, but do I like it when it happens to me? Absolutely NOT! Do I forget it? Take it to the bank- capital NO. The beating I took on my 488 hasn't been forgotten. Why? Because I was lied to! If it happens once it's one time too many in my book. But if it then happens twice then it's definitely all over for that brand. Too many other great cars out there nowadays to repeatedly cop it up the rear end by a brand claiming to be the best when in many ways it really isn't.
