    Hey All-

looking to buy a 348 within the next year or two and wanted to introduce myself and find out if there are any owners in the Lehigh Valley area of PA.

I’ve driven a 355 and know how wonderfully those handle, do the 348’s behave similarly? I’ve heard the handling isn't great but is that even true and in what ways is it not great? Any common overhauls for modernizing these weaknesses?

How does the engine respond to modern computers running the show? Is that something people do?

I absolutely love the styling of the 348 both exterior and interior. It is what it is and it’s cool.

hope to hear from some of you

    T

You bet, the 348 handles great and has possibly the best "feel" of any Ferrari, maybe any car. (Evo Feb 2015) lots of 355, 360, 430 guys I read out here miss the 348 feel. Now this is as long as the steering rack is not shot, many are but people don't know it and think they handle funny. No ticking time bombs in it per say, generally good, just tack pullies when doing major service etc. Quite east to maintain as a DIY as well. Some folks do all kinds of things including after market engine management and ITB's and run some big power. The F119 is a very robust engine. I have seen prototype racing with them running turbos etc.

I had a 348 and now a 430. The 348 has great “feel” mostly due to a properly designed manual steering system. At speed it’s easy to give it inputs and they give immediate effects. With a proper alignment and as long as its in mechanically good shape you will thoroughly enjoy the experience of driving it. One of the best sounding Ferrari’s period with the superformance / nouvalari exhaust systems.

I’d buy a 348 in a heartbeat. The exhaust can sound excellent.

There is a rare 93 SS targa for sale currently at gasmotorcars.com if you like red.

Other option is a 94 or 95 spider with manual roof and low production rarity... make mine in black. :)

I had no idea there was a 348 Speciale model. How many were made? Are those seats original?

That’s a good price for that SS given the mileage and condition.

    There were 115 SS models.

    100 1st generation, (1992 and 1993 models) and then 15 more of the 2nd generation (1994 and I think 1995).
