Wow, I am very positively surprised about my new 812 SF in various dimensions compared to my former F12. The handling, throttle repsonse, sound, speed of gearshifts, stability while accelerating, fourwheel steering in curves is just such a markup. Also the overall drama has not decreased but rather increased! That spec is beyond awesome, love your comments relative to the F12. All the drama here about 812 depreciation... I love mine and it puts smiles on my face every time.
Thank you! I am really enjoying this car a lot so far. I fully agree that Ferrari is currently making a mistake with basically just maximizing EBITDA for its shareholders through a breathtaking cadence of introducing new models and also make clients buy other models just to get an allocation for the car they really want which can not be a sustainable businessmodel for any company. However, I could not care less about current depreciation in the aftermarket since this car will be a longterm keeper for me besides my GTC4Lusso. As I stated in a earlier post I have decided to go for an 812 SF instead to go for an upcoming 812 GTS allocation. On the current 812 SF I know exactly what I am getting and it is just awesome, while the 812 GTS will be already full of nannies I do not want and on top there is the significant GPF filter uncertainty and decibel limitation just around the corner at least in Europe where I live. I would be surprised if the 812 GTS will sound the same as the 812 SF when I listen to what it has done to the F8 Tributo. For me, the current Ferrari V12 sound is like the holy grail that may not be tainted at all. It is just perfect as it is! Besides, from what I have read so far in the 812 GTS threads there is about the same production volume planned if not more as it is for the 812 SF making it less appealing/special to me. Who knows, it might be even the case that in the nearer future suddenly the desireability of the 812 SF will increase again in various dimensions - also in terms of pricing. This could happen when the market would realize that the 812 SF was effectively the last true V12 raw production car that had everything in it and was state of the art before, at least in Europe, all above mentioned obstacles came into the equation making future models possibly less appealing than in “the good old days”. I personally would not be surprised. I have some more pictures attached, that I have posted in another thread a while ago. Here is the right place for them. I’m happy to hear 812 SF is superior compared to F12 . I’ve just sold my F12 and I had an allocation for a 812 SF , delivery on June 2020. I’m already discussing with the dealer for a possibility to trade in the SF after one year and get a GTS . I’m not 100% sure if I want the GTS even if the quotation would be good . I saw it last week on a side of a SF and I think front is the same , side even if different is very nice but if you look it from rear , no way SF is much better and aggressive . I heard the noise at idle and GTS was really quieter respect to 2018 SF . As soon as rev are going up noise is coming properly . Unfortunately I think even my SF delivered in June 2020 will have GPF . We will see
Well spoken Maloja, in complete agreement. I ordered my 812 summer 2018 and received it end of Aug 2019. There were all manner of rumors about GPF fitted to all MY 2020 from very authoritative sources. So happy to have received probably one of the last V12 without GPF. I've never been a fan of the mid engine Spyder versions due to the engine not being on display and chassis dynamics of the earlier models. Congrats again on an awesome 812!
Beautiful! Is that Grigio Telesto? I drive a 458 right now but 812 SF is definitely my next supercar. I agree with everything you said. I want to find the perfect spec and keep it for life. Future turbo, hybrid, electric, whatever may be faster but NA V12 is gonna go down in history as the golden age of the automobile IMO.
I was told the same- all MY 2020 812 SF will absolutely have GPF. Yet, mine doesn't (Delivered September). I have not heard of any others getting it. So it may still work out. The reality is there's nothing you can do. If they have to include it, then you will have a V12 tuned for more power, and at some point I am sure someone will figure out how to remove it. On the other hand, this is purely my guess, its very possible they figured out a way to keep making the 812 SF without the GPF. My fingers crossed for you, but either way its a wonderful car!
