    I used jeweler's screw drivers to force it out. I think I started with one on each side until I got the bump in the top of the clip exposed.

    Chris if you look on the link below I took tons of photos including disassembling the door and pretty much breakdown and repair of the door clock (the orange bit on your photo was broken although mine was metal - replaced it with a more durable hills item).

    I removed my spring with just a very thin allan key but anything like a trim removal tool may work
