    Hi.
I am looking for 456 M and have two questions:
    1. Can someone decode following VIN : ZFFWP44B000112656
    2. What is the thickness of the paint usually on this model?

    Great thanks.
Hope I will share some photos soon.

    Here's how I decode it:

    1st digit Z = Italy
2nd digit identifies the badge. F = Ferrari
3rd digit identifies the manufacturer. F = Ferrari
    4th digit identifies the engine. W = 456M w/Motronic 5.2
5th digit is used for seatbelts/airbag system P = Air bags with 3-point inertia belts for front and inertia belts for rear
    6th & 7th digit identify to specific model 44 = 456 GT & 456M GT
8th digit is for the market the car was manufactured for: B = LHD European
9th digit is a USA CHECK DIGIT for Ferraris for markets other than North America this digit is always a 0 except for Japan where it may be an A or a P.
10th digit designates the model year and is used only on Ferraris manufactured for the North American and some Middle East markets. On cars for other markets this will always be a zero.
11th digit designates the assembly plant which for Ferrari is always Maranello = 0
    12th -17th digits are the chassis/serial number

Sorry, I can't address the paint question.

Good luck with your quest, they are an incredibly nice car to drive and just plain look at.

    Hi Macie,

I have a 2001 456M Gt, 6 speed manual that I’m interested in selling. It has just under 11K miles. It’s black exterior and Sand interior. Happy to chat further If you’re interested.
    Thx

    Hi.
Sounds interesting. For sure I would like to go to dark exterior (black, blue pozzi...) My only problem is the fact that from US I need to pay 18% excise tax, so it will become extremely expensive. But please share some details.
    Thank you.
    Best regards.
    Maciej
