My late cousin Phil Buzzelli of Pittsburgh owned a fair number of Ferraris, some of which he purchased from my father. My father never kept good records of serial numbers so tracking some of his old cars down has been a bit of a challenge. I know my father sold Phil his 365 GTC back in the 70s and I'm wondering what happened to it. It was silver with light blue interior. Anyone know its history?

Not an answer to your question but just a lead. A Dr Philip B Buzzelli, who had owned a 365 GTC among other Ferraris, was discussed in this post from 2012 here.

It’s probably best to limit this discussion to the 365 GTC.

Buzzelli owned 400 SA Cabriolet #1611 SA prior to 1995. He had bought it from Ron Spangler and paid US$ 65 K.

Dr Philip B Buzzelli is also said to have owned 275 GTB Long Nose 6 Carb 07953. Were this and 330 GT 8523 cars that your father sold to him?

Edit: I see 330 GT 8523 was bought from a Dr Ciotti.

The 400 SA was sold to Scott Rosen.
The 275 GTB 6C was from Dr. David Ravella via Auto Palace(E. Grande).
He did not acquire the Lusso as a new car, it was acquired in the 1980’s from a dealer in the UK(Mark Fisher?) and is now with David Letterman.

Yes I believe so, going from memory here.
There is plenty of baggage to unpack about Buzzelli, not much of it is relevant to the OP’s question.

My dad arranged the sale of the 330 GT from a doctor friend in Youngstown, OH to Phil (the transaction occurred in our driveway actually). I can recall the pumpkin colored corduroy interior and silver exterior.

The 275 did not come from my father but I do recall when it was under restoration with Ron Spangler in the early 80s. Six carb, sunburst alloys and a sunroof if memory serves.

Spot on. The sunroof has been described as a factory special request(notes) by some. The seller to Dr. Ravella dealer Mike Curley told me that he had it done at a local body shop on Saw Mill Run Blvd., Pittsburgh, PA.

07953 was born white, later became red and thereafter yellow.

Back to the 365 GTC, lots of great memories associated with that one. I rode with my dad in it to see a Gullwing for sale near Akron the day after Thanksgiving 1974-75. Got blasted by lake effect snow on the way there and arrived with what seemed like a foot of snow on the ground. The XWXs were not best choice for the conditions...he did buy the Gullwing btw.

Then there was the time where a guy in a new Mazda Rx3 SP tried to chase my dad down on the PA Turnpike. At the exit the guy pulled alongside at the first light where my dad put the window down and said "Hey buddy, don't bother because I'll take you in third gear." The Turnpike was my dad's turf and never let anyone pass him.

@Bob B. A long shot I know, but if your cousin did send pictures to fchat user footUNDER, as he said he was going to in the post here, there may have been a pic of the 365 GTC in with them that showed the licence plate details, which may help you to trace it?

Wonder how many LHD 365 GTCs were built in Silver over light blue? I'm guessing the interior color might have been Bleu 3015VM because that is the code for our 275 GTS 07805 which had the same shade

It was one of my father's favorites - nice to see it again. Wish they had retained the Light blue interior as original.

I remember that in 1973, I drove my 275 GTB short nose # 07747 from Westport, Ct, to Pittsburgh,Pa., see Mike Curley's red/ black 275 GTB, sunroof, 6 carb, that he was trying to sell. It had a weak front end, lots of suspension squeaks and creaks, needing possibly a new steering box as well. We had a deal in place, his car plus cash for my car. I went back to Connecticut, we would do the trade in a week, Curley went dark, disappeared, obviously the deal never happened. Curley told me that he was in the music business, and had several record stores in the Pittsburgh area.

That is spot-on Gary. Mike co-0wned a small chain of stereo shops in and around Pittsburgh. He did very well but it was always a balancing act between stereo inventory and Ferrari inventory. He had many significant Ferrari in the 1970's
As I recall Dr. Ravella bought the 275 in late 1973 or early 1974. Mike had a home on Beechwood Blvd. within sight of the Squirrel Hill Tunnels. The 275 was advertised in the Sunday Pittsburgh Press and Dr. Ravella responded to the ad. He described to me Mike's long driveway lined with several old Ferrari parked nose to tail(the neighbors must have loved him). Mike told him that the car was imported from South Africa though I have no idea if that is true. Mike was quite a character and a bit of a rogue(depending upon who you asked). I wanted to acquire his scrapbooks of Ferrari photos after his passing but his family lost them in a flood. He was closely involved with Kirk F. White particularly during the period of the two KFW auctions.
