I received last night (via DHL) Weekend Heroes 2, the latest book from Tony Adriaensens/Corsa Research. https://corsaresearch.com Its 3 volumes comprising more than 1500 pages. I've only skimmed the first volume so far. It is packed with fantastic period photos of the American sports car racing scene in the late 1940s-mid 1950s. The captions go beyond mere recitations of race results, with colorful commentary from the participants and/or photographers. The book is expensive but I believe it contains a lot of wonderful content. I have no affiliation with the author, I am just a satisfied customer of his books, particularly 10 Days in Sicily.

Below is some Ferrari content taken from the book that gives a sense of the printing quality. Copyright Adriaensens/Corsa Research.

I received my copy of Sharknose V6 today....well, actually almost a week ago but i’ve been away. Excellent service by Book Depository.

I haven’t surveyed the book in detail yet, but the size is impressive, as is the slipcase.

Update on the 312P shipping saga: McKlein has been very patient and helpful. Daniel explained that the shipment would eventually show up with an international shipping number, which it has. The U.S. Postal Service will take over from there. That might be another series of problems! Anyway, thanks for the photos and previews. Looks like it will be worth the wait.

Normal procedure. German DHL cooperates with USPS perfectly. As soon as I create a label for a parcel to the U.S., DHL immediately links to your USPS-tracking site, when I type in the tracking ID.
(I have a DHL-business account. No clue, whether that matters).
If one is ready to pay crazy shipping costs, DHL also offers ultrafast options. I sent a small parcel to the Dubai region this year. Picked up by DHL Express at my office on late Thursday afternoon. Arrived on Saturday morning at the shores of the Street of Hormuz. Prize was €100.00 for a light, small box.

    Best from Germany

I hear you. One wonders how much new information is still out there after nearly 60 years. The last book I purchased on the subject, from the late Anthony Pritchard, was a bit of a disappointment.

Agreed, I have that book too. I guess I don't need this one. I do very much like Bernard Cahier's photography, but I won't buy this new book just for that.

Thanks very much Marcel. Knowing that one bit in there about Nick Cage has now made this one a definite NO for me.

Yes I agree with you, that's what I've found with those types of books. Always something lost in translation as well as just poor information.

It looks like the Penske/Pabst car from 1963 to me.

That was 3987GT, also with number 24 at Sebring, 1963. Compare the spoilers at the back and the white spread on the bonnet. 3387GT had a unique rear spoiler that does not extend the whole width of the rear, as well as many other differences. 3987GT has a late style 250 GTO body.

Now that I see what looks like the Mecom Racing sticker I recognize it as the ‘63 Sebring car. I stand corrected! (Even though I’m seated at the moment;)).

A tour de force! More than 1500pgs in 3 volumes. I love that most of the photos are used full page. And what a change from all those European/World Championship photos. The photos really capture an era long gone. Looking forward to many hours enjoying this tome.

Just received Ferrari Racing 2019, the official Ferrari publication. Much like last years, approx1000pgs in 3 volumes and a slip case. Vol 1 is a waste as it’s only about F1

That is surprising since the cars aren't that old and specifics should be readily available even from the private teams, AND Dalton Watson usually produces a quality book.
