    Funny story, my family and I went to every COTA race/Montreal/Silverstone because of the engine noise, haven't been since the engine change and no plans of going back.

    I don’t think the level of noise is the issue. For me, it’s great to be able to watch a GP without having to wear earplugs and ear defenders. That’s just nuts. The real issue is simply the tone of the sound. Let’s face it, a 355 sounds amazing without causing you permanent ear damage and that only revved to the high 8s. If F1 can improve the tone without dramatically increasing volume, that would be just fine by me and help improve the quality of the show.

    At Hockenheim last year, Mick Schumacher did a couple hot laps in his dad’s 2002 Ferrari. I can tell you the crowd were all standing and cheering. Why? The sound! Brought tears to my eyes.

    Families??!

    F1 isn't saloon racing or cricket. I expect F1 cars to also sound like the pinnacle of motorsport.

    The magic sounds of the V10s got many of my friends hooked to F1.
