Started moving into my new house. Just pick up loads. Going out, but I don't know the area for restaurants. Probably end up at Olive Garden.

Congrats on the new house, Max.

Back home. Our friends raved about Beyond burgers, and Kroger had a special on them. So, perfect culinary storm.

Kept it simple and basic, since I wanted to get the taste of the meatless patties. Toasted buns with a little butter, slice of mater, slice of American cheese.

Cooked. Looked good. Smell was fine. Tasted OK. Don't think it'll put beef out of business. For $3/8 oz patty, meh...T

I ended up at a local casino for the buffet. Not bad, Vegas is better.

Not sure what I'll do tonight. Saw a few options.

LOL. The grocery store did make me sign a waiver! :)
If it were less sat'd fat or some other health benefit over beef, I might be swayed to make it a more regular part of our diets.

To me, that's a tad more attractive, albeit like a lot of processed foods, sodium is sneaky high.

Get to Las Cruces / El Paso area! There's not a random or not so random (i.e., Yelp suggested) local Tex Mex joint that we've walked into that has disappointed us.

Traditional Southern start of the year "good luck" meal, black eye peas and pork. For the latter, I chose pancetta. This is an Italian car forum after all.

I know, but unlike AzIt, I don't have an in-house baking guru. I like to cook, but I hate to bake. It's too detail oriented. Reminds me of my day job!

    Where's the sport in that!
Actually, we have a great local bakery, but they don't really do things like baguettes and such. Central Market is usually the best option for bread...T
