That stuff is rubbish. You should have used super glue.

Anyway, with a little more space and some judicious repositioning of some wires, I thought I'd go back to plan A. The vent sits in reasonably unobtrusively where the oil temp gauge was, the oil temp gauge has moved to where the clock was, and the clock is snug in a drawer. It's not perfect, but it's better than having it hang down underneath.
The vent hose should tuck up out of the way, although that's a problem I'll solve another day.

I made a typo - it's corflute. It's like corrugated cardboard made of plastic.

My car was parked in 30 deg C today in direct sunlight. A/c cooled it no problems, and that's without all your mods! I hope it makes a difference, for the sake of your sanity.

Yeah, but it's Melbourne - the temperature probably dropped 17 degrees before you'd driven 100m

Just tested a piece of corflute in some boiling water - no probs, so should hold up well to the heat

My new compressor is working great
Amazing how much condensate gets dropped onto the ground from the front end when the car is stationary

Holes drilled for condenser hoses. The bottom one goes through a box section and I've cut a small cylindrical steel section to reinforce it (which actually makes it stronger than it was to begin with). The top hole is about 15mm back from the ideal spot, because I want to avoid cutting the frame section. I'm hoping to get just the right curve on the a/c pipe to clear it, but will cut the frame if I have to.
