Ok..are a set front and rear brake pads for a 488 really $6715?

I planned on getting an extra set as I hear the car goes through pads quick...like in 1 track day.
I check in line and found fear parts.com that has prices. I know Ferrari is expensive but $6700 for brake pads is stupid. My Porsche had carbon ceramics too and pads front and rear run around $1200.

Any other place to look? Also looking for the 2 metal pins/rods you screw into the hub that makes it safe and easy to pull wheels off.

Looking on eurospares uk, they are about £880. and £850_ so £1730 in total.
Looking at your link it is showing just over $1000, r u sure u r not looking at caliper plus pads etc ?

My Ferrari dealer quoted me $7200 for pads for a 2015 458 Spider.

A set of front and rear pads are just under £1000 in uk. $1300 ? So thats about $1400 a corner to fit the pads, which is a diy job anyway. Seems a bit of a rip off to me.

My guy quoted me 2400 for front pads so I’m not far off from you
But 6700 is a bit much

Call a few service centers and see what you come up with,
If you are in LA area, bill at Ferrari of Los Angeles is the guy you want to talk to.

I can change pads myself...did it all the time on my Porsche’s....I have the skill and the tools so not an issue.

The $6700 for pads was for both front and rear all 4 corners. Extremely expensive and excessive cost for brake pads...for CCM Brembo brakes.

The best wheel installation studs are made/sold by Sticky RX
They are nice and long and are made from stainless steel and they are machined very nicely. The others that I have seen are shorter and made from aluminum.

Ricambi parts list shows about $3200 for a full set of OEM pads, front and rear. A set of rear pads is about $1700, covering both left and right. Maybe they were thinking you need 4 sets instead of 2, one set for each corner? If the rest of the $6700 is labor, that’s a lot!

Ah. That explains why you thought a full set would cost $6700. It’s actually half that.

I still can’t figure out why front pads, which are bigger, cost less than rear pads, though.

Same reason pads for my F-350 cost less than ones for my GSXR1000?

I don’t know for sure as I have not done the measurements but the front look like a C7 corvette pad. I am also unsure if the compounds are the same. I parked next to a friend with a C7 and got to compare.

perhaps the benefit of mass production?

The rear pads do not look like the C7.

Mike , just joined the forum and found your post very useful regarding europarts uk prices . I am having unacceptably loud noise issues with 3 yr old ,5k mls, 488 GTB brakes and had thought of replacing what are now fairly worn and possibly glazed pads with either new OEM or Pagid rsc1 pads as a hopeful solution to squealing brakes .Will be consulting dealer this week . Have any members had any experience of substituting pagid pads for OEM pads ? They get very good write ups but mainly by Pagid and i have no feel for whether CCM rotor wear would be greater if used Pagid rather than OEM.
If i stick with OEM , I saw on another thread that Ferrari changed the pads for 2018 models onwards . part number 70003278 old pads and 70003826 new pads part number . Again looking for any views/experience of OEM pad replacement and whether even on pre 2018 car i should be insisting on the 70003826 pads fitted as standard to newer cars .

Unless you are using on a track i dont see how the ccm pads can be worn - i have 12 k miles on my 430 and about 21% worn. The %age wear has not changed in years , have a look at the service records for the yearly wear rate .
Take the car out and do a few high speed stops to c if it helps.

I am always fascinated by the Ferrari tax on basic wear components not manufactured by them. Its actually quite abusive. These are just brake pads and simple to replace.
