    Very meticulous, I've done the aftermarket CF engine bay as well. Great improvement...

    Thanks, all the towels kept me from dropping a bolt in the engine bay. For those that do this use painters tape round the edges of the air box to prevent any scratches on the carbon fiber when putting it in as it’s a tight squeeze.

    Did you have a chance to weight the plastic and carbon parts to get an idea of the savings?

    No but all in all my guess is about 1 lb. purely a cosmetic upgrade

    Yep- and the small nuts and washers on the bottom of the intake tubes that require removal for the air box are tricky to get at. If they fall and you are lucky, they'd be on the underbody panel which takes a long time to remove - or they just disappear somewhere and never make it to the panel. Are those Ricambi CF parts or ?

    The panels really make the engine bay pop on the 458 and 488.

    I went with exotic car care. Everything lined up perfectly and the finish is outstanding. Spoke with DAVID and was very helpful. Ordered on Friday and here following Tuesday with fed ex ground. Could not be happier.

    I did the same engine bay CF upgrade plus the CF diffuser. The CF diffuser probably saves 10 pounds in weight.
