In the end the law of the market is that things will go for what some are willing to pay - whether it makes sense or or not is unfortunately irrelevant.

Re: New Reddish Classiche Book with White Stripe.

The Classiche Book colour for Vehicles of Historic Interest may have changed, but I don't believe the qualifying criteria has.

Certain significant Ferraris couldn't get Classiche certified in the modified configuration they raced, or even won famous races, as well as cars modified by famous design houses, so to recognise these cars, as they deserve to be, is why Ferrari introduced the Attestation of Vehicles of Historic Interest Program. Classiche Certification in this category should not be considered a lesser award, as some people seem to think, as it actually attests to the car being as was raced nationally or internationally or shown at or in Concours/Major Publications when modified by designers/carrozzeria of international recognition within 10 years of the car being built.

It is made clear at the front of the book that they do not meet the as determined criteria to be considered authentic in the "as they last left the factory sense." However, and very importantly, they do have to meet and comply to the strict criteria specified to qualify. Certification in this category is very hard to get, as not many cars actually qualify.

    Re: Full Red Classiche Book.

It doesn't seem to be appreciated or understood by some that not all Ferraris with Red Classiche Books are necessarily equal. Each Red Book has qualifications, and states what of the major components are original or have been replaced.

I agree, I just find the lengths they go to explaining how and why these replica's are real and genuine as "continuations" or whatever, hilarious.

Probably have. Just wait til the other 25 250LMs, 50 250TRs and 1,000 250GTOs are built. Will come complete with a narrative that will include recently found letters from Enzo that spoke of building a thousand GTOs and a pledge that Ferrari isn't cashing in but rather just trying to complete Enzo's legacy. Or some such.

It would still be a lot more 'authentic Ferrari' than when they start building electric cars.

I expect to hear any day that the factory has discovered 75 GTO frames and engines buried in Piero Ferrari's backyard, which they will now complete as genuine GTO's!!

They are already well on their way. They skillfully 'found' the 125 S. Just don't look at the frame too closely...;)
Next maybe the second AAC 815 perhaps?
