Hi Folks, I picked up some new bushings for the pivots on the timing belt tensioner, as I am doing a belt change/major service on my F355 Just wondering if these pivot bushings are supposed to be lubricated or not. There was grease in the bushing when I took it apart, but that just means that what the last person did, doesn’t mean it was right. I ask because the bushings are coated with what seems like a teflon-like material, and the joint is not sealed either. Grease is of course a great lubricant, but in an un-sealed joint it also does a wonderful job of trapping moisture and dirt, so the grease could easily do more harm than good.... Thanks in advance!
Bought new bushings, installed them (with no grease) and they rotate very nicely. The bushings are indeed coated and self lubricating.
