    Guys...

Has anyone installed aftermarket parking sensors or a camera. I found a speciale I like which has neither which makes no ***** sense to me. Why would someone spend 420K on a car and not put a camera or sensors on it.

    Thanks.

I spent that on mine specifically because it doesn’t have these options. I did however get the front lift option which I really wanted (and use all the time) but many people really don’t want this option. Option choices and how they are leveraged is very personal.

Is it not a pain to back up in a parking lot?

I started with 348, had an F430 and a 430 Scuderia for years and owned a 512TR for over 15 years...the side mirrors work just fine on my Speciale just like they did on all my other Ferraris.

Also, a few trips to an empty parking lot which allowed for practice helps. Can’t say enough about experience.

I specced mine without Radio, Sensors, Camera and Sat Nav.

because my 458 GTE which was the Inspiration for the 458 Speciale also doesn’t have it... i wanted as less compromise as possible.

I never had any problem as I drove 20 years before without all this stuff.

Despite what the old owners say, parking assistance features are generally desirable features.

An aftermarket parking camera is not too challenging. I believe there is a module that will make the image display in the dashboard screen. However, parking lines are unlikely to be accurate.

Aftermarket parking sensors are possible but a terrible idea and won't look OEM at all.

Do you any additional info on the parking camera? My 458 does not have a parking camera and the dealer quoted me a whole new bumper as part of the retrofit.

I ordered my Speciale without any sensors or cameras - sticker was $319K. My logic was this: if an F40 has none, why do I need them in a Speciale? Plus never had them in any of my previous 5 Ferrari's, so why do I need them in a Speciale? They add weight and cost, two features I don't care for....

Five years later don't miss any of that stuff. As I mostly use the Speciale to haul azz on weekends, I find using my mirrors for the occasional backing up more than sufficient.

Though admittedly those features ARE useful in my Toyota - at the grocery store, etc.

    Just my 2 cents.

Old owners? Old owners? What is your definition of an “old owner”?

I meant owners of older models - cars that do not have modern assistance tech. Nothing to do with the person himself.

If one owns a car with no basic safety tech, they are more likely to not value it for future car purchases.
