Yep......I remember about 7-10 years ago and saying I need to strike as $25k was the entry price for a decent 308. Oh well, but the wife is still around and the kids are grown.
I think 308 Milano is correct....keep money in hand and eyeballs on the ads.

'77 USA GTB in Blu Dino sold recently in BaT for $90K ($94.5K all in). Very nice car but no showpiece for sure...

This is the appropriate place to discuss prices so, in regards to the ‘79 GTS posted recently in F/S, with an ask of $80K OBRO is (IMHO) pure insanity.

To get that car right is a good chunk of cash for a sitting car. And trust me...cars that sit eat cash

To be a $50-55K car you’d need to buy this for $30-35K, then dive on in. Even if you’re going DIY, she’s going to need some parts.

    -wp rebuild
    -carb rebuild
    -distributors
    -belts, gaskets, seals, bearings
    -tires
    -go through breaks
-shocks sag? Awesome, there’s another $2K

You get the picture. It AINT 2014/15 anymore.

That confuses me as it states low miles
When questioned about how many, op has no clue, then realizes there are over 80k .
First, far from low. Second, the lack of knowledge seems pervasive including current market value.

I have a mint 80' GTSI that I was hoping would be the next Dino, but it doesn't seem that way LOL.

    Keeping it anyway;)

My '80 GTSi isn't mint, just a driver, but boy, am I ever glad I got it before the bubble, because prices are right back down there. You can be picky with these cars with only 45-50K in your pocket now, just like back in 2012.

If it were Rosso, would have been $70K

Really? It’s a B. That looks 10x better in Silver than Red anyway. Sometimes the right person isn’t in the room. Seems like that’s what happened. I would’ve thought $55-62.5 would’ve been “fair” price. ( so add the premium and almost at your $70K)

Totally agree...red is cliché and other colors look great on these cars...this was a well bought car assuming the quality was good.

Check out the engine bay pic (and interior) and the pricing starts to make sense.
As noted above, the last 2 USA '77 GTBs on BAT did $90k. I do think that's top of market, but I also think $45k is very low for a nice car (which that silver car is not).

Me too;) I paid $31,000 for it in 2008 but when you add in service over the years I probably break out even. Grundy has it insured for $69,000 though

Having a statistically significant amount of data to draw observations from is one thing. But packing it up in poorly-written articles (are these types of articles maybe pumped out by bots?) is a turn-off. I still contend my 308 is steel. And people still love classic Corvettes.
